Just got back from the science fair. DD won a blue first place ribbon. All her hard work paid off. :cheer2:

Her topic was Can cats be left pawed or right pawed?

Maybe we will bring the ribbon to the Dis meet tonight if anyone wants to see it. I know, proud mom showing off. :teeth:

A big CONGRATS to your daughter--what a neat topic! :cat: :teeth: Take that ribbon to the DIS meet, Susan, and show it off with pride--good kids don't raise themseles, you know! ;)

Way to go to you both! :cheer2:

That's great! Now I need the answer to her question--you'd think I'd know since I have 4 cats. LOL So, can they be left or right pawed?

I still remember winning a blue ribbon at my science fair. I must have been all of 7yo. :teeth:

:teeth: yes they can. our three cats are ambidextrous the two oldest ones, Jasmine and Bambi are right pawed dominant. Missy is left pawed dominant. But all three used both paws on and off.

Our school district starts competitive ribbons after 2nd grade. So far she has won 2 first place and 2 second places. First grade thru 3rd they get participation ribbons.

Allison has more ribbons and certificates at the age of 11 than I do for my entire life. She really is a go getter. you wouldn't know it to meet her though cause she is so quiet and shy. Unlike me who never shuts up. Guess she gets it from her dad. :teeth:

:thumbsup2 Way to go Allison!! :thumbsup2

Do bring it with tonight, for I would love to congratulate her in person!

Congratulation to your DD. The topic actually sounds very unique.

First of all Congrats. I never really paid attention to the paw preference, but I do know that when my cat bites, he prefers to snag you with his right fang.

That's great Susan!!

Please tell you DD that I said Congrats!!! :thumbsup2
(I wish I could see the ribbon tonight :guilty: )

Thanks everyone. I'll have to sign off pretty soon so that I can get into the shower and get ready for my first Dis meet. See ya all later who ever is going.

I'll be there in spirit!!! :)

How exciting for your daughter! I run the Science Fair at the elementary school I work at. It is a lot of work and many times I wonder why we do it but then I see the excitement on the kid's faces as they explain to the judges what their project is about, and then planning and running the Science Fair is all worth it. The icing on the cake is the joy in the kid's faces who win a trophy.

Now in April as I am knee deep in Science Fair planning, remind me that I said the Science Fair was worth it. :rotfl2:
