It's nights like this that I absolutely HATE her job.. I live in constant fear of these phone calls..

She's a supervisor in a group home for troubled teenage girls and this isn't the first time she's been attacked.. This particular girl was not one of hers (ie: on her unit) but rather a new girl that had just been placed today.. She was attempting to flee the building and my DD and a co-worker had her in a "standing hold".. Somehow she broke free from it and when they tried to step it up to a "take down" restraint, all heck broke loose..

First she started scratching and clawing at my DD's neck and then she started biting her.. :( At least twice they were able to get her mouth off my DD's arm, but the third time she was like a pit bull and just wouldn't let go.. They ended up having to hold the girl's nose (so she couldn't breathe) and pull her head back at the same time..

Long story short, my DD has numerous severe bites on her arms, claw marks on her neck, and because of the backgrounds that these kids come from (and the bites that broke the skin), it opens a whole can of worms in terms of HIV testing, etc..:(

My son-in-law is on his way to be with her and said he'll call me on my cell phone as soon as he knows anything more.. If it were daytime I would be at the hospital myself, but my nighttime vision is so bad I can't drive all the way from here to the hospital that they're taking her to so I have to sit and wait.................

I don't know WHY she loves this job so much, but she does....:(

C.Ann, that is horrible :( My prayers are with her

Geez, that's awful! She must be a wonderful person to put up with all of that.

My prayers are with you , your DD and her family.

We have a friend who works in a juvenile detention center who has be attacked numerous times. It's truly frightening to see how angry and vicious our teens can be.

I hope things work out well for your DD.

{{{{HUGS}}} and prayers. My daughter in law does the very same type of work. Keep us posted.

Oh my God. I pray she'll be OK.

{{hugs}} to you and your family! I will keep all of you in my prayers.

:( Oh how awful Ann! She must be a very strong person to be able to do that job. And I feel for her. I have a very deliquent niece who has been in those types of homes (and probably deserves to be somewhere even worse, but that's another thread) - and I wouldn't want to have to deal with her, let alone a whole building of kids like her. My prayers are with all of you. Hang in there.

How awful!!!! I am so sorry.
She must be a wonderful person to do that kind of job
Please keep us updated on her conidtion

Oh, man, that's terrible!!!! I hope she's fine!

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.. Still waiting here..

I have to admit that right now I'm not thinking she's "wonderful" - but more along the lines of -----------

"What IS she THINKING ???"

How sad. Prayers going out to you and your family.
