C.Ann, your daughter must be pretty special to risk herself like that for those girls.
Hang in there. :hug:

Hope she's OK....

it takes a very special kind of person to do that sort of job, but they are very much needed. I imagine you worry about her a lot, and after this possibly even more, and just want you to know you should be very proud to have such a strong and caring daughter to choose this line of work.

Oh C.Ann, I'm so sorry to read this and, waiting is soooo hard, I know. {{HUGS}} and prayers for healing for your DD, she IS special. ;)

Hoping that you'll get good news soon. I can't imagine how hard it is to keep waiting. :(

Saying prayers for you and your DD.

Sorry I didn't post back on here sooner but DD and her DH didn't get home until 2:45 this morning so after I got the call I just fell into bed..

Hopefully there won't be any complications and my DD will mend just fine.. They're still trying to track down this girl's medical info (HIV; hepatitis; etc.) but I guess because she was a new resident that arrived straight from a court appearance all the paperwork hasn't arrived at the agency yet..

The doctors cleaned all the wounds, gave my DD a tetnus shot, put her on a heavy dose of antibiotics, did some x-rays to rule out other injuries, and advised her that she would be extremely sore for a few days due to the bites and all of the struggling to try to bring the girl down.. They told her to stay out of work until Monday, but how much you wanna bet she'll go to work today ??

I know the work she does is important - and obviously someone has to do it (not many are willing to) - but gee.. I'm just so worried that one of these days a group of these girls will corner her alone and then "pack mentality" will take over with dire results.. :( She truly loves her job though - and loves those girls (regardless of the dangers involved) - so I just have to accept the fact that this is her "nitch" in life..

She is a very special person to do this - and I am very proud of her - but last night I would have been just as happy if she were a little "less" special.... LOL

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.. I'll be sure to tell her that all the folks here on the DIS were sending good thoughts her way..;)

Glad to hear, C.Ann, that things are looking good for your DD at this time. Sounds like she is also blessed with an understanding DH as well. Here's hoping she takes the doc's advice and rests through the weekend!

C. Ann, just saw this thread. Of course I'll keep DD in my prayers.

Oh C.Ann, I'll keep your daughter in my prayers. {{hugs}}

Thank God she's alright, C.Ann.

My aunt has worked in group homes for over 30 years. The nightmare stories she's told us are amazing. The most recent was a colleague who was doused with gasoline and set on fire.... :(

It takes a special kind of person who wants to do this. Your daughter is that special person. Just pray for her and realize that she's going to be alright.
