Hi, we are planning a trip to DW around my daughter's 10th birthday. Do you know if she will be charged any more for tickets and dining plan? Children over 9 are considered "adults," but her birthday will fall during our planned trip so I'm not sure if they would break it down daily?

that's a good question... we haven't run into that yet, but interesting to see how that plays out. I would imagine it would be the age she is when you get to the resort, however, i'm sure someone on here has run across this situation...

I wish I could call Disney and ask, but since I have to enter my home number beforehand and they ask a million questions before I can even ask any of my own that I'm afraid they'll flag my account or something? I mean, chances are the issue won't even come up, but I would like to be honest and be able to celebrate her birthday down there without worrying about getting in trouble.

I would imagine if your tkts are already bought and she doesn't look much older than 10, you can get away with it. They will probably charge the adult price for her meals if they "know" that she is 10. If you will be celebrating they will probably ask. They seem to "know" everything nowadays, because whenever you call for a ressie, etc. they want to know the ages of everyone in your group. Good luck and Happy Birthday to your DD!

I don't know about meals, but when my DD was 9 we got APs. They were good for the whole year even though she turned 10 before our next trip.

DD turns 9 during our vacation. As I understand it from the CM I spoke to, the age at CHECK-IN is what they consider them to be for the duration of the trip. HTH!

She will be considered the age she was when you booked the trip. No one will ask and you won't have to worry about "getting way" with anything.

We went to DW in June and then decided last minute to go back in July. When I called to book our ressies, the lady was able to pull up our information from our trip just three weeks prior. She read the information back to me to confirm it and read my DD's age as 2. I told her that by the time that we got there she would be 3 (she was turning 3 the week before the trip) and the CM said that she would be considered 2 since she was currently 2 while we were booking. I asked another CM about it and she confirmed it but I don't believe that is correct. I do believe that it is the age at check-in. My thought was what would stop people from booking a year in advance just because their kids will cost them more money. If your child is 2 at check-in, then you are fine. If not, then you need to do what you find morally correct. Am I correct about doing the right thing or do I need to be flamed????? People that cheat Disney just cost the rest of us more money.
