DD looking for rental home in Rapid City.

My very pregnant DD and her DH are looking for a nice single family rental home in Rapid and so far no luck.

Slim pickens for rental homes right now in Rapid it seems.

Any advice from local South Dakotans would be helpful.

They are moving in 2-3 weeks from Dyess AFB to Ellsworth and don't really want to live on base.

Their baby is due end of Sept

Don;t know about homes there, but they do have a nice ER - hosiptal there. While on vacation two weeks ago my daughter got sick, think it was something she ate?? Ended up going to the ER at 2 am, great staff and Doc. They got us back on the road to Mt rushmore and yellowstone..

I don't know if this will help her, but the city-data.com forums are very helpful and the people who post are "natives" who seem quite knowledgable.

As far as housing, check with the secretaries at the school districts and nearby colleges, they are always the ones in the know! I'm a teacher, and I've always found my home in a new town by asking them (same goes for the public librarian).

We just got back from vacation and on our last day we did some things in Rapid City that took us into several neighborhoods... there were several houses (Very CUTE, neat looking houses) for sale/rent in the area of Chapel Lane. It is very near the Chapel in the Hills. The house I remember most is actually on Chapel Lane. Maybe a realtor could search that area? Or use realtor.com.
