I think if you tell the doctor she's pale, has a fever, and is sleeping all the time that he'll see her that day. I'd call for sure.

Glad to see your dr says strep - but personally I'd have the blood work done too - never can be too safe...especially the headaches would concern me....
Sorry didn't mean to flame.......

She said she never would of guessed it was strep since DD's throat didnt hurt and it wasnt even really red but since that is how she first started getting sick 3 weeks ago ( sore throat & fever) she figured she would test for it anyhow.

A question ~ can you get strep without a fever??

A question ~ can you get strep without a fever? My DD5 has been complaingin of a "dry throat" since yesterday ~ she first said it didn't hurt, but felt dry ~ so I gave her plenty of liquid to help and brought her to school after lunch ( I figured our house is very dry from forced hot air and thought maybe she was dry from that)
When I picked her up from school, she immediately complained about her "dry throat" so I ran to CVS to get some sore throat pops and Tylenol for her.
Once we got home and she took the Tylenol, she threw up. She hated the tast of the Tylenol, so I'm not sure if that's what made her throw up or if it was something else. She did not throw up again, but is still complaining about her throat, I asked her if it hurts or just feels dry ~ now she says it hurts but she has no fever. I am not one to rush to the dr right away for every little thing, but if it's strep I would rather find out sooner than later, KWIM?

She ended up throwing up before school, then she felt a lot better. I think she had some phlegm going down the back of her throat which was unsettling her stomach. She has gotten a full-blown cold, but isn't complaining about feeling too badly.
I hope everyone's kids are feeling better soon.

Same thing as the OP, tired kids. The antibiotics did not work so they tested the rest and no strep. Seems there are strep carriers out there and my son (6) is one of them.
Turns out they all had a virus and it just dragged on and on. The older two missed almost two weeks of school! It was awful. They are better now. I am NOT saying this is what is going on with the OPs little one. Just an interesting aside.
