somehow I do not picture this hotel as in the same upper crust as
Dolphin, Gaylord, MOWC or even Wyndham Palace but priceline classifies it as such. Havent stayed there & havent walked thru in a number of years. Your comments appreciated.

Hi Steve,
We have only stayed at the Wyndham Palace Resort so far, but my husband and I will be spending a couple of nights at the Hilton this weeked so I'll be sure to post a little review when I get back.

When we were at the WPR in October I took a look at the Hilton and thought it looked nicer to me than the WPR. I feel like the Wyndham is a refurbished used-to-be nice resort. Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed the place and got our money's worth considering we used priceline. But I would never pay a regular rate for the place. I will probably have the same feeling about the Hilton. But again, for what I've paid through Priceline the hotel should be worth it.

These hotels are very nice for budget travel, but I wouldn't put either one of them in the same class as the Dolphin, Swan, Gaylord Palms, or MOWC. I wish they would leave the later four in the resort category and place the Wyndham and the Hilton in the 4 star category. That would make more sense to me, but they didn't ask me. ;) JMHO.:)

Thanks Luv2T, your last pararaph echoes my sentiments exactly.
I suppose Hilton DD's 4 diamond AAA rating says something though. If I stay there, I just may be pleasantly suprised if I go in with slightly lowered expectations. :).

I am actually here at the Hilton as I type. I pricelined this for 70 (was trying for the Dolphin). Its not a bad hotel. We are on the 6th floor facing Downtown Disney. The room is a little on the small side, but tastefully decorated. There is a small tv and a mini-bar (very expensive). The bathroom has the sink outside and a toilet and bath/shower combo inside. The crib we have looks to be on the flimsy side - but if it contains my son tonight - then so be it. We requested non-smoking and double beds and got both. The location is ideal. The pools look pretty nice. There are several restaurants downstairs as well as VERY pushy hilton vacation club folks. Its not a Ritz Carlton, but for the location and the price, it isn't too bad. Of course, AKL concierge savannah view was first choice ;) but this will be fine. Also, there are noticeable security personnel around the hotel. HTH!
