DD Got Sick Last Night

My 4yo DD started running a fever last night after spending most of the morning throwing up :( Poor baby, this was her first time to throw up like that.

So then I had to fight her to take some medicine...this is never any fun. I have to get 2 Tylenol chewables down her, and shes too smart to buy into the "its just candy" trick. I finally tell her I'll give her $2 if she takes them. She thinks about it for a while and finally decides to take them, but she never said anything more about the $2. Then this morning as I'm walking out the door she comes running down the stairs (obviously feeling a LOT better) and asks me for her $2. I guess when it comes to money, kids don't forget...but somehow when I tell her to pick up toys or do other chores before I get home, she'll forget all about that  Selective memory I guess.

I'm glad she is feeling better :)

You can try my method, I use liquid, pour it in the cup, ask her drink it, when she say's NO!! I calmly inform her that if she doesn't drink, I will hold her down and pour it down her throat :) All in the name of love of course :p It works every time!!

Yup! $$ will do it. The only way for me to get DS to read any books this summer was to offer him $1 for every book he read.

I believe Mary Poppins would have used the $2 to buy a "Spoonful of Sugar" , to help the "Medicine go down"......

;)

Sorry your dd was ill, but LOL about the $2. Kids never forget money :)

Hope your DD is feeling better today. :(

Glad to hear she is feeling better!
Guess I am lucky...I've never really had any problems getting my 4 boys to take medicine!

Poor baby.. Hope she's feeling better..

I had a neice & nephew that wouldn't take medicine for love OR money! You wouldn't believe the scene that would go on when they were sick.. Would take HOURS just to get a teaspoonful of medicine into them.. I sure didn't envy their parents..

Never had a problem with my own kids or my granddaughter - thank goodness!

My kid actually likes medicine. Thank goodness!

I used to hide under the dining room from my mother when it was time to take mine. Oh, what I put that woman through when I got sick! I ran all over the house trying to get away from her while she was holding a spoonful.

She used to say that one day I'd have a child of my own who would pay me back for all the torture I put her through.

Na na, Mom! My little boy slurps it down.:p

Hope she is still feeling better. My DS is 23 and still has a selective memory!
