DD finally got her way!!!!!

She wanted a pet, i asked her what she would like, she said fish

We got the tank yesterday, its all set up, we are going to get the fish today, they have already been named.

DD insisted that we have first and second names,

DD Minnie Mouse
Mine was between Hannibal lecter or Hefalump n wozuel, thinking to explain HL did not go down very well so i think it has to be HnW.
DH has decided and will not change Fish n chips (which DD thinks is great)

Hi can i suggest you take a water sample with you for them to test these days fish are so delicate if there is anything wrong with the water they will die and i would hate your DD to be upset. The ususally reccommend a week before adding fish to get the ammonia and nitrates etc. right.

I have recently set up a tank with 3 fishes - pegasus, zeus and Hades.

we had to wait a week before adding fish. due to nitrates etc. also tap water wih chlorine is highly toxic to fish. you can buy stuff to add to tap water to de-chlorinate it 1st.

in order to prevent fish from dying do a 10% partial water change regularly.

have fun with your fishes, they are really quite entertaining.

Second that Deedee it's really best to let the run for a week before putting fish in and be prepared for some places not to sell you fish as most ask you how long the tank has been up & running.
