DD Dancing Trip to DLRP 22nd 26th Oct 2006 Part 3/5
Monday 23rd Oct 2006 part two
We continued into Frontierland/Halloweenland which looked great with all the decorations. We met a Pumpkin man so we stopped for autographs. He looked at the front of our books and pointed to the North Yorks address. He then pointed to himself, put his thumbs up and started jumping up and down! One of the kids asked if he was from here too, and he nodded and jumped again! Weird!
DS Tom, Pumpkin Man, DD Chloe
Went to Phantom Manor which the others were a bit unsure about, but our reassurance made them a bit easier and they enjoyed it. Again no queue and we walked straight into the stretch room. On the way in, we noticed the Big Thunder Mountain train was stationary on an upward slope!! The CMs were on the track helping everyone to get off!!! This didnt put us off as after a visit to the great shops this was our next ride! They had just reopened it and we didnt think the queue was too bad Damn Disney is good at hiding queues! 40 minutes we queued around the mine shed! DS aged 8 and his friend, also 8, ducked under a rail and joined the other queue further along. We were sure wed catch up with them at some point, but before we knew it they were out of sight and loads of people were crowding in! I was certain my DS would wait at the ride for us to join them, no way would he get on by himself OH YES HE WOULD!! We got to the train and there was no sign of them! So nothing else for it but to continue on the ride was I surprised how different it is to WDW!?!?!?! There are two dark sections (of course how else would it get under the lake! DOH!) And much faster I thought. By now I was sure DS would not have liked this with just his friend next to him! The boys were waiting at the end for us and didnt seem bothered at all!! Maybe they were just putting on a brave face in front of each other! How quickly they grow up!!
Next, with our adrenaline coursing, we headed for Indiana Jones. None of us had been on this one before and my DS was too short, but his friend was just big enough. So me, DD, BIL and niece (neither ever done an upside down before!), friend and her son 8 joined the queue. DH, SIL, DS and friends youngest son 7 waited for us. Another well hidden queue for around 20 minutes but with everyone in that pre-ride panic, its passed quickly enough. So, my specs got zipped into my jacket pocket and we were off. WOW like BTM on acid!! That was fast! And my head felt very close to the walls at several points! Sometimes Im very glad I cant see too well without my specs! LOL! BIL looked a bit shocked at the end, so we decided he wasnt worthy of any other inverted rides!!
Walked back to Main Street and the Halloween parade was on gosh thats a catchy little song isnt it!! After the parade we headed into Discoveryland again but this time we were ready for Space Mountain!! Only me and DD plucked up the courage to go on, this was one ride I really wasnt looking forward to, but I wont let any ride beat me!! The queue was non existent until the top of the stairs, so before we knew it we were on the ride and pulling our harnesses down, yes specs in pocket again! WOW!!!! That is some ride! DNeice was eager to try this one, so I opted out for repeat ride and she went on with DD 2 times in a row!! SIL cried when they went for the first time WHY????
In the mean time, my DH and friend took the 3 boys onto Autopia, which had quite a long queue. My friend and youngest son got in one car, DS and friend in another, and my poor DH had to get in one alone and it was pink!! Ha Ha!!
We did Buzz one more time, again a similar queue of about 10 mins, and again I got level 4, but a lower score of 127,000.
It was time to leave the parks and head to Café Mickey for our 7pm reservation. My friend and boys left before us and got the table early, we hung around the park shops a little longer and got there at 6.50pm. We were shown straight to our table upstairs along the back wall. Characters were already circulating, Tigger, Pluto, Goofy, Mickey. The rest of our group joined us and we ordered. The service and food was excellent, we all chose from the set menu 34 euros per adult plus drinks and I think 20 per child, they got a souvenir drinking cup. The characters came to our table and after Pluto kept messing my hair, I swapped seats with the kids so I was against the wall and no-one could get at me!! The characters rotated, and we soon had Minnie, Daisy, Baloo, Stitch. My highlight was the Baked Alaska which they set alight in front of me!! Very very good though. Various characters got up on a table and danced, they spent a lot of time with the kids at our table and were great with the youngest in our group, who at 2 is still a little unsure, but by the end of the night she had danced with Mickey and Minnie. We never felt rushed at all and this is one place Id love to visit again.
DNeice, Minnie, Chloe
Mickey and 2 aunts
Chloe, Stitch, DNeice
Me and Mickey! (Notice the wrecked hair thanks to Pluto!)
Little Eve 2, dancing with Mickey!
DNephew and Baloo
We left about 9.30pm and headed back to the hotel, feeling like we had done an awful lot in one day! My legs and feet definitely knew about it!
