DD comes home from Sarasota/college today!

We havn't seen her since August and can't WAIT for her flight to land!
It's currently 10 below wind chill here...hope she is bringing some Florida warmth with her!

DS18 comes home today too ( he was just home at Thanksgiving). It will be nice having them home again!!

I know! I warned her NOT to wear her flip flops. Her BF ONLY has flip/flops tho...(I am getting him too, he lives about 5 miles from us) and his folks didn't drop me a coat, so will take one of DH's along.
We can only get her home at Christmas and summer (hoping she lands an internship locally this summer)
OMG, we get her until Jan 5...I am SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, 117 days. That's really hard. Thank goodness DD goes to school less than a 3 hour draive away. We last saw her at Thanksgiving. She'll be home for a month this time.

This is the first year DD22 won't be home for an extended period. She graduated in May and has a "real" job (with no vacation yet) and will work on Wednesday the 22nd until 5pm. She'll be driving home that night, so I'll only have her for the 23rd and 24th before Christmas.

Luckily she has a job with "school" hours and she has the whole next week off as well!! Otherwise, she'd have to be back at work on Monday the 27th. I don't know how much of that next week she will spend with us, though - I think she is planning to travel with some friends.

DD needs to have an internship this summer, practically mandatory and most are found in California (We live outside Chicago) and have a 16 year old so any travel is subject to his schedule and our budget. If DD lands an internship she will most likely leave from school and return direct to school this summer..meaning we won't see her until NEXT Christmas! Of all the "budget" envelopes in our house, the travel one is getting the largest portion this year, I hope, so we can see her.

Oh, that's just so sad...a whole year. My DD is just a first year, so she has no clue about internships or jobs yet. I hope she can get something close to home when the time comes.

We're going to get DD today from school as well. She's at ISU and from talking to her, the weather there has been worse than here. More snow and blowing. Good thing your DD wasn't coming in yesterday with all of the delays that we had over the weekend.

DD20 will be home on Friday. Of course, she's only thirty minutes or so from here, but it's still exciting to have her come home and be here in her own bedroom.

Our daughter is sharing a house near campus with two girlfriends this school year. None of them wants to stay in the house by themselves, so all three are planning on leaving at the same time on Friday. Two will be heading home to Phoenix (about a two hour drive) and our daughter will drive the short thirty minute drive to our house. We also get a bonus guest-her kitty, Tiger Lily.

Well, DS is home. DD and I went to pick him up at the bus station and the traffic in Minneapolis was UNREAL. It took us 3 hours round trip, it should have taken about 45 minutes, MAX. Got home, took DD to urgent care, bronchitis, got back from there, DS asked to take the car to go see friends . Not sure what time he got home though.
