DD came home from College with a new Vocabulary!

I always said grocery store until I worked with someone from southeastern MA/RI and picked up saying "market" from her. Thankfully her "cawfee" didn't stick.

Growing up we said "Tonic", my dad was real old-school New England, I started saying "soda" after hanging out with girls from western MA in college. I pick up accents and dialects much too easily. For a few days after I came back from a guided trip to France I was speaking heavily accented broken English like the local tour guides. :lmao:

I used to live in Boston (Mission Hill) and Brookline, MA and now live just north of Boston. I call it the grocery store or supermarket. I don't know anyone who just calls it the market. Oh well I went to college in CT and I'm from NH.

We call it the grocery store, the store, or more commonly "Giant Iggle". LOL. We call most other stores by their name, such as Target is "going to Target" or as some people call it "Tar-jay" :confused3 Walmart is "going to Walmart".

And its pop up here. When I was WDW last week, one of the CMs called it soda and it took me a second to realize what she meant. Then I was like  and then I started laughing because I have never heard anyone call it soda in real life. LOL.

I can't post what I call it. I'd get banned. I hate grocery shopping.

Grocery Store, And Coke don't care if it is Mountain Dew it's still coke. Sometimes it just "the store"

I have not been on here for a while and I am so glad you are doing better.
