we are thinking of going to Magic Kingdom or IOA/Universal
which would one would make a fuss of her while there ..she will be wearing a birthday badge and possibly a banner ..?

i would say MK would be a better option, if you book a table for a meal she may get a card/cupcake if you mention her birthday :)

are disney still doing the free gift card for your birthday? might be worth looking into as you may already have your tickets so a free day in the park may not be worth it

if you'll be there during the celebration year, she'll get either a free ticket to the park or if you already have a ticket, she'll get a $75 gift certificate....not bad....so i would definitely go to the magic kingdom..

MK for me. You could take her to afternoon tea at the garden view lounge at the GF. I'm sure they'd make a fuss of her there- you could even arrange a cake.:goodvibes

Didn't know that Paul. From T&C's (never seen DTD listed)
•Bring proper ID and your confirmation message to the gate at one of the Theme Parks at the Walt Disney World® Resort or Disneyland® Resort on your birthday in 2009.
•If you are a Passholder or already have a Multi-Day ticket you will use on your birthday, go ahead and register and bring the free admission on Your Birthday confirmation and proper ID to the designated Will Call windows

UK residents don't have to register, just turn up at the Will Call windows with proof of birthday (passport or copy of) on the birthday itself. Don't forget to also take your park ticket to prove that you have a multi-day ticket (shouldn't be a problem if you are planning on visiting the park anyway).

The birthday gift card doesn't have to be spent on the day, so you can keep it for use later in the holiday.

As mentioned before, if booking a meal at one of the restaurants, mention it is a birthday and you should get at least a cupcake with a candle. On my birthday, we booked for Crystal Palace and I got the cake plus a signed card from the characters - we're all big kids at heart I guess!!

Thats correct you dont register. Although the CM we got was still insistant that UK travellers should, I have no idea how as the website says not possible.

DW still has her gift card from May, will try spend it again next month. I doubt she has spent $75 in 20+ holidays to WDW, I can see us taking it a few trips til she spends it.:goodvibes

Is this for 2009 only?

We are there on DH's birthday in 2010.

Don't know how you have managed not to spend it all - mine was spent within two days, and not by myself either :sad2:

Our DD only got $63 dollars when she turned 4 out there..still it was all spent on the cinderellas castle :rotfl:(we put some money towards it too).

I think Disney as been the best as in regards with Birthdays, definately book a character meal (we loved Chef Mickeys)..they brought our daughter a card/cupcake courtesy of Mickey mouse.:goodvibes This year we tried CP..same Card/Cupcake with Pooh :)
