DC's Cherry Blossoms

DC's fabled cherry blossoms are in full bloom as of Monday. I biked downtown today to get a few shots. I'm going to go again on Monday to try again, as I didn't stay long because of the crowds. Here's what I've taken so far:

I was down on the Mall in DC today accompanying DH to a Meatloaf concert (later postponed!) and I had only my 5+ year old Canon PowerShot 200 (2 pixel) camera with me. It was getting late in the day and this was the less than desired result but it was fun pretending to be a tourist in our own town!

Hey, neighbor! I love the third photo with all the different color flowers as well as the last two that are side-by-side. Today wasn't such a great day for taking photos, but yours turned out nicely.

Thanks sk8belle and hjd0411 - I was amazed anything came out given the lack of zoom and almost no pixel power in this old camera. And sk8belle, I used your pictures as a bit of inspiration for angles and I was disappointed when the day turned out so gloomy.

Well I got a great dinner out of the day and a few pictures (concert postponed to April 16th!).

Spring is very brief in the Washington area so we enjoy it while we can!

I went to the Meatloaf concert with ds here last Wednesday. It was a great show! What happened that they had to postpone?

Great shots sk8belle and klmall. The one of the magnolia tree brought back memories from my 1st year of college. There were rows of magnolias on the lower quad that were gorgeous. I transferred schools after my first year.
