DCP - Requesting a location

I was accepted for Spring Attractions and I would really love the opportunity to request a specific attraction/location. I am well aware that it won't guarantee anything, but still, I'd like to try. Would it be appropriate/possible to email or phone the recruiting office about potentially making a request? Which one would be better?

Any opinions or help of any kind is appreciated.

Congrats on being accepted! The best time to make location requests was during your phone interview. You will have a magical time wherever you are!

Yep, they'll ask you about your fave, park, job etc. during the interview. Take it with a grain of salt. My DD said "Epcot, photopass" so she's at AOA in merchandise... it's always a crap shoot. Good luck and PS once given a role/location it is NON refundable... no changes...

I understand I am happy no matter what :) But I wasn't sure if they would find it inappropriate for me to even ask on an email?

I wouldn't say it would negatively affect you but they don't take requests. You filled out what areas you were willing to work but on the CP you get what they give you. You don't want to start off your program being known as the kid who came in expecting to be given what they want.

Also just because the role you accepted was for one thing you could arrive and get something completely different. My friend was given a role in main entrance. He got there and found out his role had been switch and he was doing something at Disney Quest (I think custodial). He pitched a fit and they basically said sorry there isn't much we can do. After he kept pitching a fit they gave him a merchandise position. He did fine but the managers were unwilling to work with him on anything because he basically threated a lawsuit until Disney gave him what he wanted. He was not allowed to stay for another program and was not accepted for seasonal or p/t either. He basically burned every bridge he had at Disney over his position.

No matter what attraction you get you'll be fine. I want Big Thunder or Jungle Cruise and said so in my interview. I got there and I was at Agent P World Showcase Adventure. I was pissed and thought it wasn't even really an "attraction". After the first day of training my opinion quickly changed and I had the best 1.75 years of my life as an OWCA agent recruiter and have so many memories.

In my interview, they asked me if there was anything I didn't get to say about myself that I thought was relevant. I used that time to work in my theatre experience and work in my request (Jungle Cruise or The Great Movie Ride). I still have NO idea if that helped at all, but I was overjoyed to find out that I had been placed in my dream location when I arrived!

IMO, there's nothing wrong with asking. I know someone who was placed in Adventureland for their extension, but at a different attraction. He asked to be moved and was able to switch to Jungle Cruise. There's definitely no guarantee of that being allowed, and most likely if you request something they'll just ignore your email. But that doesn't mean that you'll be fired for asking.

Also- I agree with what people say that the attraction you get isn't the thing, it's all about your attitude/who you work with. I mean, I got lucky and adored my attraction itself. But two of my roommates were placed at attractions they were initially not thrilled at all with- but they have both chosen to extend and stay there because they ended up loving it!

If I can ask, where are you hoping to be placed?
