Hi everyone! I recently applied to the Disney College Program and I'm so excited! I'm an older student (26), and in my last quarter to finish up my BA. Just this week, I received an e-mail to apply to the DCP, so I figured why not, right?? I have no immediate plans, I'm a huge disney fan and it seems like a great opportunity to get your foot in the door at a major company! Plus I'd be spending time (and most importantly my free time) in the most magical place on earth!
Shortly after I applied, I received an e-mail indicating that I needed to complete a Web-Based interview. So yesterday I completed the WBI and did not receive a congratulatory message nor a failure message, but rather a confusing one?
"Interview Complete
Thank you for completing the Web-Based Interview and for applying to be a part of the Disney College Program.
You will receive an email within the next 24 hours indicating next steps.
In the meantime, we encourage you to prepare for your interview by exploring disneycollegeprogram.com. On this site, you can explore more about available roles, the course offerings, and the housing experience."
So I got a little excited thinking that maybe, just maybe, I had passed! But then I get an email saying:
"Thank you for your interest in the Disney College Program. Due to the high volume of applications received, not all applicants may proceed in the interviewing process.
You will be contacted with further updates on the status of your application and interview no later than April 20, 2015
If you are not updated regarding a final decision by April 20, 2015, please contact our office atwdw.college.recruiting@disney.com.
We sincerely thank you for your enthusiasm and interest in the Disney College Program."
It seems like many receive a definitive message following the WBI and if passed they immediately pick a time for a phone interview, so I was just wondering if anyone else has gotten a message like this or if this is a tell-tale sign that I've reached the end of the line on the DCP application?
Also.... It just so happens that I'll be visiting the Magical Kingdom (for the first time ever!!!) in April, and OMG, I'm so excited!!! So if you have any tips for any of the parks, then please do share!!
Thanks!!
