DCL with DDP

I added the ddp to my dcl 4 land/3 sea package. I wanted to come in a day early but DU advised you can't add an extra day hotel/park if you add the ddp to your package. So, I booked a room only reservation for the Sat before my package - I'm advised that the park tickets wouldn't officially be available until Sun with the package, but that I could check with cust service when I get there Sat and see if they will release my tickets and allow me to add the extra day at that time.

I am bummed, because I wanted to do ddp but I am not sure I want to risk not having tickets for Saturday.

Has anyone tried to do this, and if so, were they successful? I'm going to post this on the DCL forum as well, but there is not much on DDP there.
