I have read a couple of times that you can go to the AK on the day of your cruise departure and be collected from there. This would be ideal for us since we are trying to maximise our time at the parks. My question is what happens to your luggage? We are staying at VWL for 3 nights before the cruise. Has anyone done this? Can you tell me more?

Lucy here - just trying to get this to the top for you so you
can get information
Did you book the Land and Sea with Disney?
My cousin booked the Land and Sea last year, stayed at the
Wilderness Lodge - had to have her suitcases outside her room at
the Lodge by a certain time, she had time to play at Animal Kingdom and
then the bus picked the group up there.
I believe this only happens if you do the "Land and Sea".
Please someone, correct me if I'm wrong.

We booked our land separately from our "sea" portion but did buy the DCL transfers with our sea portion.

We were required to check in at the cruise desk in the lobby of our hotel. That's when they tell you the how, when's and where's. Our luggage was collected from our room (left inside beside the door) at 8:00am the morning of the cruise. You have to take your carry-ons with you though if you plan to be picked up at AK. Not too bad going to the park if they are roller bags but very incovenient if you want to go on any rides-someone always has to stay behind to watch your stuff.

We decided to take the DCL transfer from the resort-left our luggage where they wanted by the door and our carryons in the closet. Went to AK early but made sure we were back to collect our carryons and board our DCL bus which left the resort at 11:45.
