We are planning our first cruise. We are thinking about arriving in Orlando on a Friday and staying in the Hyatt at the airport then getting on a DCL bus in the morning.

If we did this:

1) What would be the earliest time the buses start leaving?

2) would we check our bags with them in the morning, or do they have a desk that we could check them in the night before?

Thanks for teh info, Pacha

If u stay at the Hyatt, u can put your bags out side the door of your room during the night and they will pick them up for u...

im not sure what tme the buses star leaving the hotel..

other options would be to take a towncar service to the port,,
if there r 3 or more in your party then tansfers r $50.00 per person round trip and for 180.00 or so u can get round trip towncar service.... then u could specify the time u would lke to be at the port... we like to get there about 10 ish t grab a good spot close to front of the line....

The airport busses start running about 9:30, which gets you to port about 10:30...which is the time the counters open. That's plenty of time.

Remember that many of the busses from WDW don't leave till 12:30 or later. There's much talk on here about getting to the port early. It's nice, but 10:30 is plenty early enough. THey won't let you onto port property if you get there before 10. You will park across the street or go to McD's and wait till they open the port to traffic. If you release your towncar, you will have a long walk with luggage. If you keep the car (most allow one 15 minute stop), you will pay for any excess time involved.

We always stay at the Hyatt the night before cruising. In my experience, we've been told to put the bags outside our door by 8-8:30 in the morning, from where they'll be collected and transferred to the ship. We've never left them outside the night before, and I don't think they're collected until morning.

Check-in for the busses is around 9:30, and the first bus usually leaves around 10:00. This have varied from cruise to cruise, but those times are about average. We've always been to the port in plenty of time to get a good spot in line.

HI, We leave on the Magic on the 14th. We will also hopefully be staying at a hotel near MCO the 12 and 13th, although I haven't booked it yet and probably don't have a chance on Priceline since it is so close to a holiday. My question is where exactly do we meet the Cruise busses? Will there be signs? We hope to catch the earliest one to the Cape.

If you stay at the Hyatt, you can check in for the bus in the lobby. There is another location to check in if you're coming from an off-site hotel, but I'm not sure where that is. If you're taking a hotel shuttle, let the driver know that you're meeting the DCL bus, and he/she will probably know where to go. In any case, there are a lot of DCL crew members in the terminal to help direct people to the busses, finding them shouldn't be a problem.
