I have recently heard that the transfer from MCO handles much of the cruise check in and security at the airport, making the time at the port seamless. Does DCL do any of that at FLL as well. That might make the increased cost worth it for my family.
The check in process at port is simply checking your travel documents and activating any MB+. Its not a long process. Everyone goes through security. Ft. Lauderdale airport is VERY close to the port and the added cost vs a car service like Uber might be quite a bit. You will likely get a lower Boarding Group but most of the time it is all groups by 90 mins into boarding at the latest, if you do a midnight check in you might cut that wait difference down to 20-30 mins between the boarding group given by using DCL transport and taking a car service.
