did we just get into the house to a message from cruiseline formalwear? If they attempt to charge me for a tux my DH was never able to wear, Disney will have hell to pay!! Cant DCL at least make this easy to deal with? after all they did take my cruise away

Barb - were you able to enjoy yourself at all? What about your DH? - I feel so bad for you because we all knew how excited you were about going! I am sure you will not get charged for the tux - but what a disheartening message to hear when you get back home!

when was the message dated??? Could it have been left earlier in the week before the cruise was cancelled? I am sure you will not be charged. You really need to take things with a grain of salt or a shot of vodka, maybe???

We left the house at 1pm Thurs, the cruise was cancelled at 3pm Wed. There was no call on our machine when we left.

What did the call say?

And what relationship does Disney have to the tux rental place? How would Disney know if you were renting a tux or not? My husband was considering renting a tux from this place and I remembered they had a FAQ. Here is a quote from their FAQ:

Q. What should I do if my cabin number, ship or sail date change after I placed my formal wear rental order?

A. It is important that you notify Cruiseline Formalwear directly prior to sailing of changes made to your cabin number, ship or sail date. Cruiseline Formalwear will not (underline appears on their website) be notified directly by the cruise line of these changes. You may notify us by calling our toll free number (800-551-5091), by fax (305-252-6855) or by e-mail (formals@cruiselineformal.com) during business hours (Mon-Fri 8:00 am - 5:00pm est.).

I have to wonder if they were trying to get in touch with you because they knew the cruise had been cancelled to see if you still needed the tux? Probably not something they would've done under any other circumstance. Why don't you call them back and see what's up? It sounds like it would normally be their policy to charge you unless you call and cancel BUT perhaps given the circumstances they will waive that. Maybe they were calling to find out whether you had cancelled and wouldn't need the tux or if you had rescheduled your cruise and for what date and did you still want the tux? I think before getting upset, I would at least call them back. If they were going to just charge you for it they would probably not call you to tell you, it would just show up on your credit card bill.

guess i was thinking cancellations as in if we did the cancelling not the Magic cancelling on us!!
And I did ask Disney if they would take care of all cancellations and they said yes

As Lisa stated, Cruiseline Formalwear is a separate entity from DCL. They serve many cruise lines. When DCL said they would take care of all your cancellations, they were probably referring only to excursions and other such things booked through them.

Lisa's reference to the Q & A (which shows it is NOT DCL's responsibility) makes clear how IMPORTANT it is for people to read the fine print and the terms of any agreement. I say that only because it seems a majority do not do so, with the excuse that it is too much trouble. This is even true of their actual cruise docs!

Having said that, I would NOT jump to conclusions about them charging you until you speak with them. They were surely aware of the cruise cancellation, but perhaps they thought you switched to another line's 7-day cruise and still needed the tux. They may have called only to advise you they could not deliver it. Try to stay calm, then call Cruiseline Formalwear for the facts.

:p :p :p (don't take this seriously) :p :p :p

If they charge you, ask them where THEY were. (Since they obviously didn't deliver the tux to you) I mean, did they really show up at the dock and try to deliver it?

Even if they did show up at the dock, DCL wouldn't have allowed them to board, so they didn't deliver as promised either. I'm sure it will be okay.

Before you get worked up about what they might be saying, why don't you wait to see what they have to say?

why did u not go on a 3 or 4 day other people opted to ??
