DCL Summer 2017 Megathread - Itineraries are out!

I just don't think a lot of people do a search first. The thought of a question comes to mind, and one is immediate to post it before seeing if there is another similar thread, and before forgetting what they were going to ask LOL

They had 47 itineraries mentioned, but when I went to the next screen, it was blank. Nothing on the Wonder or Magic anywhere on this site (cruisemapper). Maybe this will help someone.

Those are already out. They haven't released the Wonder and Magic past April 23 and May 7th though.

undoubtedly...and there would be only 1 tipping thread, one obc thread, one photo thread...

i have previously posted a thread questioning why the seems to frequently be 2 threads with the same topic posted minutes apart as if the was some conspiratorial or competitive nature between posters....
either way, there was a (bad) pun involved in my post....if u have to explain them, they're no good

I am not sure if this is a generational issue or not, but I always do a search in any forum/board I am part of before asking a question, especially if it involves a new thread. But it would be really nice if before starting a new thread, the forum software would ask if a search for this info has already been done, and if not, it would not allow you to post.

yea, but ... who wants to search a thread that has 75 pages of responses - lots of it would be "ancient" history.

I am guilty of starting a new thread on a topic (but in my 5000+ posts I've probably only started 20 threads) because I wanted the up to date info and people current opinions.

and maintaining those "super threads" with the current info could be kinda spotty. Lots of people come here for info, go on their cruise, find out things are different, get upset but still have a great cruise and don't return to the DIS afterwards to give the current info. So who would keep the info up to date?

I already alerted this thread to the moderators and asked that it is being merged. The OP might just not have noticed the sticky at the top.

I know that I don't notice the pinned items on the first page, I skip over those threads and get to the new stuff ....

I know, and until recently, the sticky threads have not been maintained very well.

I know that some other areas here on the DIS really are very good in keeping topics to one thread. The cruise board most definitely is not one of them. I think it is a bit sad, for example with excursion reviews. There are threads where people can post their reviews, but instead most reviews are scattered all over the place in a million threads asking for recommendations for port X or port Y.

We are expecting June to September 2017 to be released any time now. Last year the rest of the year was released in May.

The only problem with this theory, for some, is that we can't wait to see if they offer discounts later on because we have to request our vacation dates way in advance. This would work great if you can jump on last minute pricing and book it, but then if you don't live close you are stuck with last minute airfares also.

Yes, I was thinking about adding a comment like this to my post! But who knows, maybe DCL surprises us and they end up releasing all the cruises for the rest of the year now! (yes, I know, just wishful thinking, not getting my hopes up!)
