DCL shows that they CAN cancel cruises for no reason - Wonder's 12/9/12 and on

I hope they do a PC cruise. I would love to start in Disneyland and take the Wonder to DisneyWorld. That would be my idea of a perfect vacation. (well-throw in a trip to Disneyland Paris, then it would be perfect!) I would cancel my Hawaii trip in an instant to do a PC crossing.

However, if they do a few PC crossing to get the boat back to Alaska, I could go to Hawaii in 2012 and then do PC in 2013. I vote for that option! ;)

Someone else said this too. I just want to warn that booking a dummy reservation and then changing it later might cause you to lose the shipboard credit. Years ago when I was a travel agent this was the case - shipboard credit could not be moved from sailing to sailing, even in these "special" situations. Maybe check with DCL on this before doing it, that way no one loses their credit? :confused3 Just a thought

My Travel Agent asked - Disney said it was no problem. The OBC is just like if you book onboard. We can keep moving the date and keep the $500. Of course, I don't have that in writing.

I was told the same thing by the cast memeber who moved my Dec 9th cruise. The OBC stays with the reservation. My reservation number did not change when I moved my date. Which was a dummy to begin with and will again be moved to sometime in 2013.

Interesting question on DCL's Facebook today:

"If you were looking off into the horizon with Mickey on a Disney ship today, which view would you want – St. Maarten, Castaway Cay or the vast Pacific Ocean?"

And on Dec 8...
"WOULD YOU RATHER … sail past the quaint fishing villages, historical towns and unspoiled natural wonders of the New England Coast – OR – the rugged cliffs, lush green forests and legendary beaches of the Pacific Coast?"

Hmmmm :scratchin

I'm pretty sure that yesterday's had to do with where each ship was currently located. Yesterday the Magic should have been at St. Maarten, the Dream would have been a CC and the Wonder had a sea day.

I don't think they were leaving hints.

This is just speculation (probably won't happen) but maybe they are cancelling LA and Mexico and moving to San Diego and doing Hawaii. When the Wonder first went to CA, San Diego was an option. LA is near Disneyland but from what i've heard the port is hard to get to and it's very industrial, not touristy! And they added another Hawaii cruise after only 1 because of demand. 1 to 2 to throughout December...hmm.... Again, my guess will most likely be wrong, just thinking out loud!

PS I don't know a whole lot about cruising since its been so long, but is it possible for the Wonder to come back East during the cold months or during the time that MR was cancelled? it was rumored that it could come back east.

I would love to cruise the Pacific coast California, Oregon, Washington and BC! Disney would need to mix it up some by making port somewhere new like Portland or San Simeon (Hearst Castle).

Not so patientally waiting I have close to $2000 sitting and waiting for the new stuff.,

This is convincing me that the Wonder is headed back East. Here are my thoughts:

-All of the problems with Mexico (crime, drugs..etc)
- Mixed reviews of the MR cruises
- LA port is not very tourist friendly (from what I have heard)
- Disney isn't filling the Wonder as well as it did when it was in the Bahamas

I think its going to go to either Tampa or Miami.Maybe even somewhere out side of FL. New Orleans maybe?I don't think they will put 2 ships from the same line in Galveston.
Because the MR cruises were not as good as they were advertised, Wonder moves back. The only thing that I'm trying to decide is what the Magic will do. Is it supposed to have a drydock? Will Disney still do Alaska? Its still West, but i heard that those had a better outcome than Mexico.

Ah, it's days like this I wish Andrew Derek UK was still here on the cruise boards. He would have tracked it all down & we'd know the exact itinerary by now. :sad1:

I would not be surprised if they send the Wonder to Miami. I recently completed a DCL Survey that talked about potential future itineraries which listed 4, 5, and 7 night itineraries from Miami.

It indicated the 4 nt. going to Nassau and Castaway Cay. The 5 nt. had three options: Nassau, CC, Key West OR CC, Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos OR Grand Cayman, Cozumel.

The 7 nt. included: CC, St. Maarten, Tortola.

It will be interesting to see what they decide to do.

Yeah, whatever happened to him??

I have no idea. I hope he's ok. He was awesome at finding clues like our Grand Cayman website info & know how many knots/hr the ship would cruise and have the itinerary nailed, which are sea days etc., all before DCL would announce it.
Hmmm... maybe the DCL Mafia put a hit on him. :lmao: just kidding, really! :flower3:

OWWWWWWWW! that is nice! that would be cool if DCL would sail to Labadee too!

Plus Miami make sense as it is open. Disney could use Royal's terminal it is empty on the weeekend. PC is full FLL is full as is Tampa but Miami is wide open with no ships except Majesty at royals terminal
