DCL Ship Oranament!

Very nice. I would love to have one. Guess I will have to make sure and look next time I go.

We bought the same ornament a few weeks ago on the Wonder. My SIL was upset because it isn't actually a Radko ornament. Apparently they used to be Radko but now they aren't. Anyway - she didn't buy it but when she saw it on my tree she wished she'd gotten one. It's more than I'd usually pay for an ornament but I'm glad I did. There are two other ornaments that are more of a flat porcelain circle. The one we got has the ship and a cloud above it shaped like Mickey's head. The one we didn't get was a dated one that had some type of logo on it. I just wrote the year on the back of the one we got. Remember you can get the dated Disney ornaments lots of places, but you can only get the cruise ornaments on the ship!

How do you go about getting it signed by the Captain?

During the cruise there will be a Captain Signing session where you can bring your items to the Captain to sign. He is usually set up in at a desk in Treasure Ketch. Get there early...the line can get long.

It is usually one afternoon at about 1:00 or so.

I was wondering about it being a Radko or not when I saw someone say they paid $20 for theirs. I found my box when I was packing up Christmas today and it was $32 in 2002. The captain was very gracious about signing things that day in the Treasure Ketch. We also had him sign one of the framed maps with the Western Itinerary on it. It was only the 2nd Western at the time we sailed. Looking forward to our cruise in 2006!!

I sure wish I'd known the Captain would sign the glass ornament. I thought he only signed things like maps or the ship model, so I didn't bother. I won't make that mistake next time. Thanks for the info!

Do they sell it year round? I'll be on the Wonder next Sunday and I'm hoping to buy one. Do they sell any other ornaments? I have one from the Maiden Voyage of the Magic but it's a simple cruise line logo.

Just wanted to share what the DCL ship ornament looks like hanging on our tree!! I love it and it is front and center on the tree this year. I purchased it on the Magic back in September during the Hurricane cruise!!!

We bought ours in May, so I would think that they do sellthem year round.

Our tablemates presented us with one last June, so I'd have to say they'd be available all year.

I love the Radko ornament. Is it a REAL Radko ornament? Not that it matters, just curious...

Every time we go to WDW, a Christmas ornament is my souvenir too, so I knew I was going to get one on our upcoming cruise; however, the only ones I saw on Ebay, I wasn't crazy about.

Good to see there is actually a GOOD LOOKING ornament out there! LOL...Tanks for sharing the pictures and the price!

I was wondering the same thing too, as I know I paid $32 for mine on the 2002 Wonder Halloween Cruise! I was bummed out that I missed having Captain Henry sign it though. :( I keep mine out year round in my curio cabinet!!

It appears that they are NO LONGER a true Radko, but a VERY good representation! The one in the picture is similar to the Radko I bought in 2002. The Radko has waves along the bottom of the ship.
