Do they sell DCL scrapbooks onboard? I didn't know if I should wait and buy one onboard or start searching for a Disney one before our cruise.

I havent been on the DCL yet but I would assume that its like WDW/DL in their book sizes--

If you already scrapbook a certain size you prob wont find what ya want although I *think* they now offer a real 12x12 book... When I was at wdw I got a 8.5x11 book that when used with regular sheet protectors vs the magnetic pages it came with the pages stick out a little. Not that noticable but a decent 1/3 inch-

The bigger books disney once had actually were 10x10 which if you need replacements and such are a bear to find esp. sheet protectors--

Outside Disney sandylion offers 3 12x12 Disney themed books (Mickey (red) Pooh (yellow) and princess (pink)) They are pretty nice and can be expanded a little bit- they also have a dozen or so fun papers and sticker sets for disney :)

WDW (not sure if the cruise does yet) has recently started some pretty kewl (yet expensive) scrapbook sets with paper etc and I *think* most come in both sizes- DL (my home park) is just barely starting carrying the stuff so I havent seen it in person yet...

I saw somewhere recently that Disney has several photo holder books that say the year/location etc on them if you are a more into that--

Yes the ship does have DCL scrapbooks. I think I payed $25 for mine. It is kind of like a regular photo album that has some solid color pieces of scrapbooking paper in it and also a few sheets of stickers and those little cut out decoration thingies
(Sorry i'm not a scrapbook officianato. :D) I though it was quite nice though, and I managed to make a very cute scrapbook out of it. :sunny:

Yes they do - at least they did last year. The one they were selling last year was an 8 /2 x 11 post bound book. It had the year on the cover. They did not have many pages in it (maybe 10). I did buy refill pages at my local scrapbook store that fit. I am not sure if I will buy another one this year as I like to scrapbook with 12 x 12 books and think I will take too many pics on the 7 day to fit in the book right. They are nice books though, great memories!

They have had themed 8 1/2 x 11 ones for the last couple of years. Nice assortment of punch-outs, stickers, and papers.

Their 2004 themed book is navy blue and is a 12x12 post bound album. It comes with a few pages and page protectors but not many. Price is $25.00.

They also have a scrapbook packet with themed sheets, stickers for about $15.00

Great! That helps me decide. I will be buying this book on our 7 night cruise in September.

Thanks! I'll be adding this to my budget. Now the next thing is can I buy a big duffel bag to bring all my loot home in!:hyper:

Scrapbooking is my favorite hobby, so of course I bought a scrapbook at Disney World! I bought the navy blue 12 x 12 book with Tinkerbelle on the front, and I HATE IT!

The book came with 10 pages. I switched out the flimsy page protectors that came with it for some heavier quality true 12x12 pages. The book has an odd type of spine that I've never seen before on any brand of scrapbook (the spine is hard instead of flexible like Creative Memories, Dalee, or Pioneer), and the bottom line is that it's just too small for anyone who plans to take more than two or three rolls of film! I wanted to put in 19 page protectors (38 12x12 scrapbook pages or sides), and they simply will not fit in the book! I bought extra posts, which do fit, but the spine will not open up enough to hold the pages.

The album cover is beautiful, but I wish I could return it.

Good to know. Do they sell stickers or other things that would help make my own scrapbook special?

MrsPete-

Scrapbooking is also my favorite hobby and I too bought the 12 x 12 book at WDW. I have not even opened it yet, but will have to take a look at it. My DCL book does not have a spine and is open. I too bought other pages and extensions for the posts (which do not fit). I figured I would try to get new posts all together if I can find them.

MrsPete....I definitely had the same problem!! It is not big enough at all. I don't even know where I can get posts to make my pages scrunch in the book. So my advice is NOT to buy the scrapbooks that Disney sells. Get the sandylion ones someone else suggested. Then spend money on buying stickers, postcards, and the like at disney to put in it.

When we were at WDW in Sept we got a 3 ring binder style scrapbook. (12X12) The page protectors that it came with (15) were very nice quality and it also had 20 sheets of nice thick white paper and some assorted colored paper. I added quite a few extra page protectors and it still has room for more.
I really love it!
I got a package of the parks papers to go with it and a package of stickers. I should have looked closer because the stickers that came in the paper set were almost identical to the ones I bought seperatly. (oh well!)
When we were on the ship I didn't see any cruise line specific supplies though:( . They did have the book I got though.
It is very cute! It has Pooh and the Gang on the cover.
:D

Cotomom -

In your earlier post you mentioned a paper and sticker packet...is that cruise themed and for 12 x 12 format?

We cruised last summer and I hate to admit I am still working on that trip.

I did buy the 8.5 x 11 (which was all they had at the time) mainly for the stickers, die cuts, etc. and have been using those. And used the book to hold my onboard photog pics for people to see before I get them into the scrapbook.

If anyone knows about this for sure could you either post a reply here or PM me?

THANKS!
Deb

P.S. Yes, I have been MIA for a while due to an extremely hectic fall at work. But I'm BACK!

I have not gone on my cruise yet, however, I did purchase a Mickey scrap book 12 x 12 through mousememories.com. It is really nice and I bought extra pages to go with it. That site has a lot of mickey scrapbooking stuff. I've spent a fortune there. The book is kind of 3D. Very nice. I also heard that the scrapbooks they sell on the boat go quickly. So, if you wait till your cruise, get there as soon as the gift shop opens!

Thanks for the advice! This will be my first scrapbook project so wish me luck!

Sorry I haven't been back sooner.

The 12x12 I bought on board the ship does not have Tinkerbelle on the cover. It's a ship/cruise themed design and has the year 2004 on it.

Same for the scrapbook packet I bought extra for $15. It's cruise themed and has some 2004 dates within. Some things say Disney Magic and some say Disney Wonder.

I haven't tried to add pages yet so I don't know if it'll have any problems adding, but I didn't think so when i originally looked at it.

HTH...

Thanks cotomom,

I think that response was pretty quick! It sounds like the extras pack has the same sort of stuff that was packed with the 8.5 x 11 book I bought last year. I have enough of that along with some other Disney specific items (the M&M romance pack from the parks is wonderful for those hubby & me times! G RATED ONLY!) combined with the generic cruise stuff from LSS, etc.

Thanks again for the feedback.
