DCL sailing year round from Galveston in 2027

We did one of the last NYC Bermuda sailings on the Dream that DCL offered. It was so cool sailing from NYC. We traveled across the country to do it and I would again. Plus Bermuda is such a great destination, we didn’t get our fill even with an overnight. I’d love to see NYC as an option again.

I am so anxious for the Fall 2026 release to see if there's even a possibility the Dream might go back to NYC following the Europe season since it will be the first year with no dry dock for these ships since 2023. It may be unlikely but I'm still curious to see what DCL decides to do. With all the new ships coming on board over the next few years it feels like anything could happen.

I cruised on the Disney Magic out of Galveston the 1st week of December 2024. The disembarkation process was the worst I have experienced on a Disney cruise. No passengers were allowed to leave until after 10:00 AM so everyone from the 1st and 2nd seating breakfasts were stacking up in the hallways and there was very little assistance or information provided to us by the Disney crew members. It was my 1st time cruising out of Galveston so I don't know if this is normal or if it was a 1 time thing. I do know as I left my thoughts were that I would probably not want to cruise out of Galveston again.

Very puzzled by this. Seems every sailing out of Galveston earlier this year was heavily discounted. If they can’t fill a small ship full price for part of the year, how can they fill a bigger one full time? DCL makes some questionable decisions.
It may be worth it for the Summer season. When they sailed out of NYC during the school semester the cruises were also heavily discounted. Same thing in San Diego. DCL always cruises out of the smaller markets when school is in session. It would be interesting to see how these markets do in the Summer.

I did not have that issue in Galveston, but I have a number of bad embarkations and debarkations on DCL. It's not exclusive to Galveston.

I would love for them to go to Bermuda from NYC again. Bermuda was amazing even with our shortened itinerary there due to an incoming tropical storm.

I’m sure they sailed out of NYC for a full summer one year (maybe 2012?) but I don’t remember how it sold.

Oh please no! I’ve been planning the transatlantic for my 50th for years and I HATE the Wish 😭
You won't be able to walk across the Atlantic. People that say the walking deck doesn't get used that much have never been on a TA.

We sailed out of Galveston on the Wonder in 2017 and would gladly do another Disney Cruise from Galveston, but all they've offered in recent years is very short sailings. I really liked the 7-night itinerary they used to offer to Key West and Castaway Cay from Galveston. I know that Key West sailings are a thing of the past, but it would still be nice to see some longer Western Caribbean sailings from Galveston. I'm not sure if that is what the local market favors, though.

My hubby and I run the deck every few days. There’s no way I’m doing the treadmill that much. And no mini golf. And no view of the ocean from the Rainforest Room. This will likely be a dealbreaker. So sad.

We tried to walk the decks on the Treasure. It was tough. Made us miss the Fantasy.
