DCL - Reception??

Hello!

I was wondering about the DCL weddings... is there any kind of reception after the ceremony? I know that the bride and groom get dinner in Palo's, but what are the guests supposed to do?

If someone could clarify what happens to the guests after the ceremony, that would be very helpful!

First off - congratulations!

When are you getting married on the cruise? Are you having the ceremony on Castaway Cay or on the ship? If it is being held on Castaway Cay, the reception is held afterwards in Palo's for you and your guests (that's where the cake is cut and the toasts are done). If it is held on the ship the ceremony and reception (which follows immediately after the ceremony) is held in Sessions.

Moonbeams knows a lot about the DCL weddings - she PM'd one of the previous brides about it. I can let you know after I get back from my wedding cruise in January (Jan. 14th to Jan. 21st!)

My understanding is that the Palo (no "s") reservation is only for the bride and groom. If you wanted other people to be able to join you, you'd have to set it up. But the "group" room in Palo is pretty small and gets pretty warm when you get people in there.

Unfortunately your very sweet congratulations are premature... I'm not yet engaged, but I'm dreaming in Disney fashion!

I've been aware of Disney weddings for years, but unfortunately they seem rather expensive, so I'm trying to explore all the options so that I'm prepared!!

DCL is a pretty good deal for a Disney wedding - if you go to the Disney Fairytale Weddings site you can see a breakdown of what you get plus they have some pricing. The price for a wedding add-on is currently $2900 (for the Castaway Cay ceremony, the stateroom is a separate charge). The picture package is extra as well as any additional flowers (the bridal bouquet and groom's flower are included).

I'm getting married on Castaway Cay so I'll send out a trip report when I get back and you can read about all the details then!

I'd be interested in any information regarding DCL weddings! Still way early in the planning stages...but its never to early to "dream". The reception is an important part i'm interrested in. I'd want the ceremony on Castaway Cay. I'd have at least 10 guests for the reception. Can't wait to read about the upcoming DCL weddings!!
