Hello!! This is my first post on DIS so please go easy on me! I am looking to cruise on the Dream May 15th 2017 for my birthday =) I see a price of $2404.14 for Cat 05A for 2 people with tax on the DCL website currently. Is it best to book at this rate with DCL or Dreams Unlimited (for the OBC) ahead of time? Or wait until closer to the cruise date to look for pricing as the time of year is not as popular? While reading other threads I am seeing that some cruises (Star Wars) doubled in price from release to sail date and I rather be proactive and book now than wait and pay a higher price.

Thank you in advance!

Prices are usually at their lowest on the day when the cruises are first released and will increase from there. If a cruise isn't selling well, there might be a discount offered after the "paid in full" or PIF date for the cruise. But there is no guarantee there will be a discounted fare offered and if there is one, it is often more expensive than the opening day fare. So, it usually makes the most sense to book the cruise as early as possible.

Welcome to the Dis! :welcome: I'm sure you will find a lot of helpful information here.

I agree with the previous poster, while occasionally discounts are offered once the cruise gets closer, in general pricing will increase. I also second Dreams Unlimited for their OBC and their specialized trip planning services.
