DCL Points vs Cash

Can I use points for adults and cash for children? How do they calculate cost (cash) when using points? Example: the decrease in cost for 3rd/4th person. Thanks.

I know that you can do this, but I believe that there are set cash prices (no 3rd/4th person discount) for people using points for a portion of their DCL trip.

Has anyone done this? Our family is hoping to go on a 4 day cruise, category 6/verandah and would like to use points for the adults & cash for the kids (10 & 12 yrs old). How much cash did you have to pay for the kids trip? I'd be interested in the 7 day trip too, if anyone knows?
