DCL photos of years gone by...

To me, one of the biggest changes DCL ever did was not to allow you to bring on alcohol. We did many cruises back in the "good old days" when it was perfectly fine to bring on your own bottle of rum (or whatever your particular poison was...).

I agree. My bar bills literally had no change from that policy to the new standards. I mean who wants to drink in your cabin or go back to your cabin when the drink of the day is so good.

I had to laugh at that. PC was my first DCL dinner too, and we had a lot of people leaving early (including my sister's family) due to some serious rocking.

We sailed on the Magic out of NY in 2012. On our Port Canaveral day, dinner was the buffet in Parrot Cay too.

we were on the first sailing out of NYC in May of 2012 on the Magic. Remember the bumper sticker on the ship....I thought I had a pic of it but I couldn't find it. I'll Google it. Ok, a pic of it is at this link.

These aren't my pictures (as pics aren't allowed in the theater), so I can't say if they are legitimately from DCL, but they are what I found by doing a search. 2 things no longer seen on DCL are Voyage of the Ghost Ship and Hercules the Muse-ical.

Yes!! Tropicalifragilisticexpealidocious! They even had live steel pan music at dinner... I always requested the p-l-a-p-l-a-p (I think that was it) dinner rotation order that would put DS and I in Parrot Cay for tropical night and Lumiere's for formal night. Such great memories! Thank you for reminding me.

How about when they used to give out shots for singing Karaoke (on the table to the right of the stage)? I remember 1 night there were some left over when it was done, and the club was emptying out. 1 guy went over and started downing them. The Club Host caught him. They also used to give a free drink to the contestants on Match Your Mate. We haven't seen that on our last few cruises.

I don’t know about everywhere else, but that is my drink of choice, and here in Texas we call it an Adios ************. definitely glad they changed the name when they had it there!

We loved Brent (and his accent). We actually ran into him and his family at Disney's California Adventure in 2015. He had just left DCL to take a position in entertainment management at the park.
