DCL Party Planning Thread (combined threads)

I've been a host for Friday Night Lights, and two Cartoon Network shows and they have sent me plates, cups, temp tatoos and iron on to make shirts with. For the FNL they sent me a DVD of a preview of season 2, seat cusions, megaphones, cups, hand towels, and nice gift bags to stuff all of the stuff in as "SWAG" bags for my guests. They also sent me recipe cards with suggestions for snack ideas and enclosed enough for all my gift bags. We have been very happy with our House Party's we've hosted and I would love to get in on this DCL one because we are really in love with DCL. Their stuff usually comes UPS and they are pretty good about getting it to you in time for you to set up and stuff. The site is also a pretty good place to get ideas on how to make your party rock. I hope this helps you all who would like to host but are on the fence. I wish they would offer me every party I sign up for but they don't.

Dude, I would love to go to a Friday Night Lights party! I am such a geek for that show...

Thanks for sharing your experience! How many people do you usually have at your Houseparties? Any problems with getting people to show up?

Usually I invite mostly family but we have about 20 kids and 20 adults and I have no problem getting them to come. The kids are in one area and the parents are hanging out together so it usually flows pretty well. They usually come early and stay late, I wish they would leave a bit earlier. I forgot to mention that when it's a movie/show premier they send you the DVD so that way you get a copy of it and you get to keep it.

After reading this thread. One thing is bothering me. We were not told when we would here back about if we were to be chosen, etc.?? So what do you all think about that? Why wouldn't there have been a closed date or stated when we would here something back?

Seriously, I can't figure out how I never receive these CC emails??? Oh well, I guess I should just be happy that I have the DIS ! I would love to host a DCL party. We always have a bunch of people over for the UFC fights and one of our friends was asking how well we liked cruising with Disney. They are trying to plan their honeymoon. I gave them my DCL DVD (made me sad but I knew I would just request another) and told them to book immediately! It was the absolute most fun ever. You bet we would host a DCL party. OP that mentioned Friday Night Lights, OMG that is the best show ever. I would move to Dillion, TX if I could be a Panther!!! Coach Taylor's so hot!!

I received a clarification email from the House Party help desk that states:

"the host announcement date for the Disney Cruise Line House Party will be on or around December 19th. You will most certainly receive more information as the date draws closer."

DH got the email, but I did not, and I'm the one booking/shopping/planning.... Ah well.

We can't host the "party" anyway as we'll be boarding the Magic that day! (there'd be lots of DCL fans around -- think I should have the party onboard?)

Just received an email that they are taking host applications until Friday 12/14, and will notify the selected hosts by Weds. 12/19.

I got this email too and also send my application was being processed. And they would send me another email on the 19th to let me know.

I think this was done at DCL's request because they don't normally send out update emails. I can't wait to find out it I got in or not.

Subsribing to the thread. I was about to start one on this topic until I stumbled across this. I got the original email and it took me all of two seconds to say "Oh, Yeah!" After all the Southern Living and Premier Jewelry parties I have been to in the last 4 months, it is MY turn. And this will be the coolest one ever compared to those other parties. I don't need more jewelry, I need to be in Castaway Cay.

Probably true about the demographics. I am single with no kids.

All those chosen, post your party ideas. If I am not chosen, I will have to live vicariously through the posts.
