DCL on points and cash?

Is it possible to book a DCL cruise with cash and then change part of it over to points when the 11 month window opens up? We are seriously thinking of cruising in Oct. 2006 and would like to book with cash at this time to get the cabin we want but then we are thinking it would be nice to use points for my and DH portion and keep DD portion being paid for with cash. Will this be possible to make a reservation in cash now and then roll part of it over to points later? I will put a call into our guide tomorrow to ask this but DH is wondering if any one here knows if this is possible.

I'm sorry to say that it's not possible to do it that way.

What you can do (and what I have done in the past) is book with cash when you are ready and then call at 11 months to check and see what the points and cash needed for the crusie would be. If you book it with points and cash, you would then cancel your cash reservation. But you can't just convert it.
