We are DVC members and booked a cruise on cash. Will we still get the DVC welcome gifts? Will they know we are members??

They should as I have paid cash for my last 2 cruises.

You can call DCL to make sure it is noted you are a DVC member or stop by the DVC desk on the ship to let me know you are a DVC member and didn't get the "Welcome Home" sign on your door. The first time I booked I stopped by the DVC desk on the Magic but the 2nd time it was already noted. WHen I booked my cruise this time I mentioned it and it was already in their system.

Hope this helps.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. If you don't have a magnet on your cabin door, you can just stop by the DVC desk and let them know. We have done that about 1/2 the times we have cruised.

On our last cruise on Jan of this year I was told they were not doing magnets anymore.

I did not see any on any of the cabin doors either, nor did we get a gift in our cabin. We went to the member gathering on board and got a few goodies.

3 DCL cruises on cash and never requested that it be noted on the reservation by DCL. On all three, we were recognized as DVC Members. For the last 2, we received a call from DVC prior to the sailing to let us know when the Member Celebration was to be held.

We went on the Magic in April. We had a magnet on our door when we arrived and received gifts without having to tell anyone.

we didn't receive a magnet in January but received some other nice items:thumbsup2. We ask to have DVC membership noted on reservation and also stop by the desk in the terminal if we have a chance. Otherwise, stop in for the member meet the 1st afternoon.

We did as well on the Magic last month. We did not tell anyone we are DVC members, they figured it out on their own. We booked with cash, not points. We had the magnet on our door when we arrived and received a couple of cards in our room letting us know about DVC presentations and gifts, but the gifts were not left in our room, we had to pick them up at the DVC counter.

What gift? You mean the magnet they put on your door?

Often they will put a gift in your cabin, I think we got a wooden box with some pins.

FYI, your DVC dues pays for the "gifts".

Yeah our last cruise all we had was the magnet... I'd rather my dues not go to stuff like this when only a select small few get anything.

Are you sure about that? I can't imagine how dues could be used to provide a gift on a cruise. That just doesn't seem right.

Both cruises they've already known. I'm just the associate on the DVC account, but the main guest in the room (as the one booking everything I naturally put my name first), and still they see DH's name and know.

Mention of a wooden box...they don't have that anymore. It's been a cardboard box containing lanyards.
