DCL on ABC TONITE

I would imagine the reason they did not film the the actual staterooms was because they would not have been able to fit all the camera equipment and lights in any of the rooms except the suites.

WEll that makes sense. NEver thought of that....thanks.

I still think they could have made the water look like it was moving though, that was a little cheesy. :(

They also didn't enter the atrium in the right spot when they were boarding the ship.

It was interesting to watch but the parts on the ship flashed by too quickly:(

I have never been on the Magic, only the Wonder and it is interesting to compare the two.

I agree, in these days of great computer special effects, you would think they could have made it look like real water and sky.

Well it sounds pretty nice. I have to wait until Thursday to be able to see it though. It was preempted here because of a stupid basketball game. :( It wont be aired until 1:05 AM Wednesday night. :( Now to figure out this VCR program...it's a new one.

Maybe they left the baby home because they can't fit 5 in a room. :D

:rotfl: @ Mary
It was cute. DD liked the fact that she got to see Mickey and some of the gang, especially during the Sail Away Party scene.

The women that annouced them on the ship was our cruise director from the Wonder cruise back in November. I can't recall her name.

Rachel?

Yes the cruise director was Rachel, she was the CD on our
12-27-03 Eastern trip. Her voice gets like fingernails on a blackboard after 7 days, especially when she screams.

Nice to see the ship, but yes, the cabin was on a sound stage, so it was bigger and had wooden bunk beds.

A few other Boo-Boo's, we were at Castaway Cay on January 2 of this year, about 13 days after the shortest day of the year, and the sun didn't set until about 5:30, about 30 minutes after we left, so it would be tough to watch a sunset from the beach, unless you missed the boat!!!
I hope they include the ships horn in next week's show.

My kids were mad I had the show on, they only want to see the Magic in person!!

Oh well, nice to see the Magic, but after seeing the show, I have a better understanding why ABC is number 3 or 4, it was a truly awful show.

So our family came up with much of the same list of boo-boos. Our thoughts...

The baby didn't go because it is really tough to fit 5 people in a stateroom that isn't a suite and DCL didn't want to promote that problem.

The stateroom had to be a sound stage because of the equipment and angles. DS immediately said - that has to be a soundstage - can't get that angle and WHY is the tv just sitting on a table? It should be in a cabinet.

Also the closet was next to the bed and not in the entrance way.

Of course the bunkbeds

The atrium entrance in the wrong spot - from the water?

The scene where Jim knocks Goofy over had an immediate comment from my DH that no way could a guest get that interactive with a character.

The CC sunset comment - and the preview shown for next week had this happening when the sun was pretty high in the sky!

The Key West stuff was real but there was some inconsistency in the shoot starting in broad daylight and when they showed the "family" strolling down the street it was dusk. Of course the question raised was and just when do they have dinner? And if it is sunset time why aren't they in Mallory Square?

Speaking of next week's previews they did show Jim and his wife strolling on deck 4, and in Palo.

Deb

I said the same thing to my husband about the sunset at CC as Robin said.

I also noticed that about KW too - they weren't in Mallory Square - they were where the Shipwreck Museum is - we hung out there quite a bit when we were there in July and recognized that area.

It will be interesting to see how next week goes. I can't wait for the next 6 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes yes YES! That's why I remembered her name. Her voice got to me in the first day! She seemed nice and all, but WOW :earseek: ...too much. Reminded me of my old days at cheerleading camp.

Actually, I disagree. If you watch the show weekly, they rarely ever have the baby in any of the shots anyway. He is not a part of the plot ever and would probably just be a hinderance onboard anyway like....'since when is this baby ever a part of the plot anyway?'

JMO, though.

What cruise was this show taped during? It was so fun to watch! The scenes from Key West were great too!

Re: the non moving ocean. Granted they could have had the computer graphic geeks working on this anytime, but the turn around time from the time the cruise sequences were filmed to the airing date was a pretty short timeframe.

tvguy: Love your comment about ABC being the 3rd, 4th or 5th highest rated network.

It was taped during the 1-17-04 cruise on the Magic.

I enjoyed the show, I don't ever watch it, but I had to last night, because, you know... I'm addicted:D
One thing I noticed they got wrong, outside the stateroom, there was a art print hanging in the corridor.
