I am not noticing a thread on this...

On January 26th, DCL modified the "Know Before You Go" page. The one noticeable update was the ability, starting to day, to get debarkation testing for those requiring proof of negative test for onward travel. PCR test is roughly $100 USD, and results provided via e-mail within 2 hours. A few people have reached out to DCL on this, and you do not need to stay onsite while awaiting test results.

I used the SwitchHealth kit while at sea this week, with no issues (videoconference service works without a glitch, on DCL's wifi!) - but good to know there is a new option

I’m curious to know when we sail in April from San Diego to Vancouver how testing is going to work coming back into Canada. Will we have to pay for testing or will we have free testing as everyone on board will have to be tested?

Yikes that’s expensive for a family of five. Still holding out hope that testing requirements are removed by our PIF date, otherwise we’ll just cancel. Land vacations are hard enough, but worrying constantly about potentially testing positive during or upon debarkation of a cruise 😬 I think cruising might be over for us for a few years, especially at DCL prices.

It's very pricey. We plan on looking for a cheaper option when we get off the ship. With any luck (not holding my breath) we will not need it in May.

Having been both to a park and on a cruise in the same week, I'll say this and be careful to stay within forum guidelines... Health measures for a DCL Cruise and the lower crowds would make me go on a cruise again vs heading to the parks... or even a grocery store... Yes, I was a bit stressed about testing negative on embarkation... and for the return to Canada... but we made it... and SWDAS was epic!

At this time, free tests by Walgreens and CVS have been hard to get and turnaround time not ideal. Walgreens has the "free" rapid PCR (again, poor availability) but any other regular PCR will add 2-3 days to your vacation. For a rapid PCR, this is actually quite affordable... but yes, who knows what the requirements will be in May... By comparison, the Switch Health PCR testing kit is $149... this comes out to $125CAD
