We're thinking of booking a 4 nite cruise, so I went to Disney's website and it seems they have some GREAT deals for cruises in September. Why are they so cheap?? Is that "hurrican season"? Would you recommend booking a cruise in September?

What are your recommendations for the best time to cruise, weather-wise?

Also, does anyone know of any discounts? We have the Disney Visa - not sure if they offer any discounts.

Sorry for the questions, but I know you guys will steer me in the right direction  ::yes::

Thanks!!

HI there. I also just booked the 09-26 sailing of the Wonder due to the wonderful rate! My I recommend www.allseastravel.com it was $764 with them that includes all fees. It is hurricane season, but I have sailed in Spet and October before and it has been beautiful!

Sept/Oct are hurricane season, but we've sailed then several times without any problem. The ships sometimes visit "alternative" ports then due to weather. The costs are low because the kids are back in school and the ships aren't as full--they want to entice you to sail.

How do get it even cheaper--book thru Dreams Unlimited, Cruisetraveloutlet, etc. They will give a discount off of their commission. IN addition, the Disney Visa is currently offering a $50 onboard credit if you do ALL your payments on the Visa. This is not a discount off your costs, it is a credit to your account when you board which you can use on anything you buy (excursions, alcohol, sodas, etc.)

Sometimes the fall dates are discounted even further as the dates approach. A good TA will track this for you and request the discounted rate if your cruise is reduced.

We love Sept and Oct. It is warm but not horribly hot. No matter where the ship goes, it is a great trip.

I must second kcashner. I love september. We've taken several. We love the lower cost and the weather is really nice.

Yes it's hurricane season, but the ship will sail around anything out there.

but we love cruising in hurricane season! The prices are just right and we havent experienced too many problems while cruising. The only thing is if you do choose to cruise (like others have mentioned) sometimes your ports change. If you dont really care what island you visit or if you dont get to visit any and just sail around it's a great bargain. For us we've done every itinerary out there so we just go just to cruise. It's a great time to try it out without a lot of expense but you do have to know going in it could have a lot of motion involved but for us we just stock up on the meclizine and enjoy ourselves.

Hurrican season actually start in June so the whole summer is technically Hurrican Season!! Just so happens most of the storms form Sept-Nov.

We have sailed both in summer and fall and love the fall. Whether is hot, but not quite as humid!!!

We'll be on the 9-12-04 Wonder and can't wait. As far as hurricane potential, it's just an opportunity to visit a different port - which is just fine with us! And the prices can't be beat - $864 for a Secret Porthole Room/ Cat. 10!
