Hello! My fiance and I are DVC, AP, and new Florida residents. Needless to say, we are WDW experts, but have never cruised with Disney before. We saw Florida resident deals online for the Dream and the Magic 3-night cruises for about $1200. This is super easy for us to do on a long weekend. A few questions:
-We live in SW Florida so Miami is slightly closer, but Canaveral isn't bad. Should we do the Dream or the Magic? We are late 30s, no kids yet.
-Are there a lot of extra costs I'm not thinking of- other than alcoholic beverages and excursions? $600 per person seems ridiculously cheap.
- Are the Florida resident deals for these short cruises always this cheap- or is this a Covid thing and we should hop on it at this price while we can?

3 nights at sea for $1200 sounds like a pretty nice weekend plan to me. Thanks for any insight!

Hello!
-I think the Magic would be the perfect size for a 3 night trip and it's an excellent ship for first timers.
-Luckily all basics are included so extra costs really depend on what you'd like to do. I've been on Disney cruises where I have spent absolutely no extra money (and had a GREAT time) but some things to consider are the spa (we enjoyed the rainforest room), specialty coffee/tea drinks from the cafe or going to one of the adult only restaurants.
-I can't fully answer about the Florida pricing, but overall they've had crazy good deals lately so I'd jump on it (especially since the ships are at such low capacity)

Tips.
They are a non-negotiable added expense.
$40.50 per person, per night, I believe.
Plus tipping if you order (free) room service.

Sounds kind of expensive for a 3 nights compared to other cruise lines... (Usually around 400$/pp, sometimes less than that if you get lucky...)

What kind of cabin do you get for that price? Inside, Porthole or Verandah?

But you know... a first cruise with the Mouse is always special. :)

Porthole. The inside state rooms were around $1100. The $1200 was ocean view. I think a balcony is another couple hundred.

I know we can do another cruise line cheaper, but we really wanted to do a DISNEY cruise without spending a small fortune.
