Yes, you can make payments at any time, as long as you're paid in full by the 60-day mark. Dreams Unlimited's site has a link on the page which lists your reservation info where you can make a payment with a credit card directly to DCL.
I don't know how it works if you book directly though DCL, but I use DU and I make monthly payments on both of my cruises I have booked next year. They have an online form you complete and submit and you can pay whatever amount you want towards your cruise (as long as you are paid in full by the 60 day mark).
We have been doing just that (monthly $100 pymts) for the last 12 months on our credit card(FF miles). It is very easy to do on-line on the DU site...........only 2 more payments for us until we cruise
Whenever I get a bit of extra overtime I call Allseas Travel and they have my info on file and just tell them how much I want to put off of my balance. I now get an emailed receipt with all my info (cabin number, list of dates and amounts of payments I have made, changes I made all on the receipt) Also have been getting a snail mail receipt.
I find the ability to pay a bit when you can is great and with the Canadian peso being a bit stronger of late its even a better time to do it
Cheers,
Grumbo
I think you can use your debit card, but you *may* have a maximum charge that can be accepted. I paid $1K yesterday, so I paid with my CC. Will make an online CC payment today (transfer from checking) to pay that off.
We booked through All Seasons Travel and paid our initial $1,000. with a Visa card that is a debit card linked to our checking account. We have a $500. maximum charge allowed on our card so All Seasons simply put it through on 2 different days for $500. each.
I plan on making payments on our cruise every month and I was told to call All Seas and they can do it right over the phone. I will probably be making payments in increments of about $300. each time so I won't have to worry about the $500. daily charge limit.
Mjasp: I agree about not using that type of card for the ship unless you know for sure that your balance will be well below your daily charge limit. I KNOW ours won't be below $500.
But what you can do for your onboard account is to call DCL and ask them to charge an onboard credit to your debit card(visa or MC logo of course). So when you get there, I think they told me I will have a little card in my room with my prepaid room credit and I just have guest services apply that to my balance. So I don't have to worry about the daily limit while onboard and I don't have to worry about charging a ton. We figured up what our tips and shore excursions would cost and got that much put on a room credit so we have all that money all ready paid for.

Thanks for this info! It makes sense since anyone can call up and put a credit on someone else's account as a gift, so of course you can do the same for yourself. That's a great idea! Once we have the cruise paid off I will make some "deposits" towards our shipboard account
