DCL Member Cruise

At any rate, missed it by 5 minutes the CM said. So I waitlisted, for category 7 and higher (7,8,9 etc) for 3.
Goldi, we were actually running around the parks on Saturday trying to get through to MS on our cell phones. We also missed the sell-out by no more than 15 minutes and are on the waitlist for the very same categories you are! I agree there probably won't be many cancellations but I'm sure there will be people who find they cannot go on the cruise for one reason or another. We were going to use up a bunch of banked points that we have and are also trying to decide whether to wait for a while or just blow it off and try again next time! Good luck!!

This very thread had people who felt it was better to use cash so they wouldn't lose anything if they cancelled. That tells me that there are probably a lot of people who feel they may not make the cruise. Thus, there's probably a pretty good chance your waitlist will come through.

The last cruise was much shorter notice, so a lot of people pretty much knew already if they would be able to make it or not. In some ways, I think this shows that it may actually be better to give less notice for these special cruises.

They are in trouble either way.

If they don't give notice people complain. If they do and it sells out people complain LOL!

I think there may be some changes. I booked for example using cash so that I could change up to 60 days in advance. I am in the process of looking for a new job and one I interview for tomorrow would be a "month end" type of job meaning that I probably would not be able to take off that early in the month. Plus some people don't have final school schedules yet.

I think cancellations will be later so you could be in limbo for a while.

Booking the cruise is exactly like booking at a DVC resort at the 11 month window. We have 11 months. So I think, people either know whether they can make the dates or not or they know they have enough time to arrange the dates. I do not think there will be many cancellations. There may be a few, maybe people having second thoughts about taking their kids out of scholl so early in the year, ect. But all in all, I don't think there will be a flood of cancellations come summertime.
