Just got my personal invitation from Pluto to board The DVC Wonder cruise. It took me quite some time to read all the posts here. Thanks for answering alot of my questions. I still have more--
Please clarify for me:

If I (am lucky enough to get through to MS on 10/23 and) book now, let'ssay w/ a family of five. If one of us is not able to make the trip and we have a "substitute" in Sept. this counts as a "cancellation". Will I then be able to get my ressie changed or would someone on the "wait list" then be called?

I would love to go on this cruise. I will be 40 in Aug and I wanted a big way to celebrate.

Nezy - it is my understanding that as long as the person doing the booking is still in the room that it wouldn't be a cancellation. I do think, however, that it would be subject to the $75 change fee. I would call DVC before the 23rd to clarrify that.

No, and nothing on the DVC site about it either. I would recommend calling Member Services.

I called and spoke with MS last week about cancellation policy if paying cash...nobody knew what the rules were and told me to call back next week..

I sure will be asking....I'd love to go but won't know my DD's high school start date for a few more months.....I'm going to try to book and then cancel if I have too..

I called member services on Thursday to inquire about cash reservation penalties for cancellation and was transfered to exchanges where I was told"standard cancellation policy will apply". When I asked what that meant in detail I was told if you cancel 60 days or sooner no penalty,30-59 days $250.00 per person,8-29 days 50% of your total cruise cost and no refunds at all for 7 days or less. All this talk of people calling and not being able to get an answer is making me nervous.My husband can't put in for next years vacation days until next year!! I was on hold for quite a time before the advisor came back with this answer so I really hope he's right.I will call again next week to double check that's for sure.

That sounds like standard to me. I'd say ask again when booking.
