Anyone have experience getting left-behind items sent to you via DCL's lost and found? We just disembarked from a wonderful Dream cruise today, but I later realized that I accidentally left some jewelry behind in the stateroom.

I called DCL's lost & found number, which was straight to voicemail, which said to leave a detailed message & a CM would call back. Well, I left the detailed message around 1, but got no callback today.

Should I be optimistic? Pessimistic? We always kept our cabin neat & our stateroom host was great.

There are many stories for returned items. You will probably get a call or email the next business day. If they did not notice your items before they left port today hopefully they will turn it in to shore side lost and found next time they return.

They may be shortstaffed today because of the holiday weekend. I would say if you don't hear back by Tuesday evening, try them again.

DMIL left her walker behind. (She was in her wheel chair when leaving the ship, so no one in the extended family noticed.) DH called DCL lost and found and it was eventually found in the Port Canaveral terminal, and DCL shipped it home for free.

I have had much success with Lost and Found on DCL. Once they located it, they would have sent it to Lost and Found which is in Orlando by the Airport...I am sure they will be calling you by tomorrow with an update. Most likely not later than Tuesday to make arrangements to get it back to you. :)

Wife left a sweater on a lounge chair on CC several years ago. We notified L&F and they called back several times to report that it was not found (could have been picked up by another "guest.") They were super nice and concerned. I would imagine that during the holiday season, as mentioned above, they are limited in their response time. Give them 'til Wed. or Thurs. of next week. Good luck!

Shanti, check on the Disney forum in the cruisecritic message boards too.

I can’t remember if I’ve seen it there or here (I think there, though), but I’ve seen a thread by someone who had found a guest’s belongings, didn’t trust the cruise lost and found, and took it upon themselves to take it and work to get it back to the person in their own through the boards.

So check all over online along with l&f.

Way back when; our son was in Jr. High and we didn't realize that he forgot his band jacket in the stateroom until we got the message from DCL that it was found and on its way to our address. Didn't have to pay a nickel for it pixiedust:

I will add mine. We left a framed photo we had done for my MIL. A quick call and overnighted at their expense. (Plus a lovely little keepsake note tucked into the picture frame)
