Another group used the Donald Duck gif with him in the plaid jacket and stuff. Wonder how much Disney will play up Donald in Alaska.

Kind of quiet around here. Guess everybody was busy getting ready for/enjoying Halloween and probably off reading all the stuff about the DREAM.

I'll be exploring the prices starting the 9th, and may check out a Christmas/New Years back to back for 2011. Will see how that compares to the cost for this cruise and how family feels about it. Would love to do a b2b2b 4 night/3night/5night, but only if I could get the same stateroom for all three 'legs' and I'm betting it would be way to pricy.

Hi Everyone! Is there any room left for 3 more? :lmao: We booked this cruise yesterday and we are very excited, since we have always wanted to go to Alaska, We are Dennis (me) Monica (DW) and Madison (DD 8) We got off the Magic about a month ago Western Caribbean and booked the 10 night Mediterranean Cruise (Sept 8th 2010) :woohoo:the 20% discount plus $400 onboard credit was just too tempting to not to take advantage of it. Also, although I'm originally from Monroe, NC I'm living in Madrid, so no flights needed for the Med cruise :cool1:. Julie, if you want to add us to the first post, here's our info.

Dis Screen name dennismcneely (me)
Dennis
Monica (DW)
Madison (DD) 9 at the time of the cruise

Cabin# 5512
Late dining

We enjoyed our Western Caribbean cruise so much and we made a lot of new Dis Friends, so I really look forward to getting to know some of you folks.:)

Med will be our 3rd Disney cruise and Alaska our 4th :yay:

You guys take care,

Dennis

Welcome aboard, Dennis and family!!! Isn't DCL addicting :goodvibes By the way, we're neighbours - we're in 5510. Great location and awesome cabins.

Hi Wendy! Yes, DCL is definitely addicting :thumbsup2, glad to know we are going to be neighbours, we really love our cabin location, very quiet and close to the Oceaneer Club/Lab, I don't really like those long hallways of other decks. Actually we were in 5510 on our Western Caribbean and it will be our cabin on our Mediterranean cruise in September 2010, we were in 5512 on our 1st cruise on the 'Wonder'. We are very excited about this cruise, because we have never been to Canada neither to Alaska, well, we've been to Niagara Falls, but not sure if that counts :) We are trying to combine our cruise with any itinerary of the Rocky Mountaineer, but we'll see.

When we originally booked the cruise, the DCL CM put us in 5512 as she said 5510 wasn't available. I was able to change it to 5510 when in minutes of hanging up online - so don't know why it didn't show for her. We had 5510 the last two cruises on the Magic.

Good luck with the Rocky Mountaineer portion. I've heard it's a great trip - it's on my bucket list. We've driven thru the Rockies a few times, but never by train. The Rockies are so beautiful - worth seeing if you have the time to add to the trip. If you have any questions about Victoria, Vancouver and surrounding area - I can try and anwser then for you.

Our addiction to DCL and Disney is relentless. We are presently booked for the 2010 Presidents week Magic Eastern cruise and a 3 day Wonder at the beginning of September 2010 as well as our Klondike Kruisers cruise for summer 2011. Of course all the Florida cruises include some time at WDW.

This morning, I did plan to book on the Dream's maiden voyage using DVC points. :sad2:Unfortunately, my 2012 points are not available for use until June of 2011. So maybe we'll get to jump aboard the Fantasy's maiden voyage in 2012!

Thanks Wendy, I sure will need to ask some questions. I realized that you will be doing the Western Caribbean next spring, so if you have any questions about the itinerary, excursions, ports of call etc. please feel free to ask. :) We enjoyed our WC cruise so much, Key West is by far the most beautiful port we've ever been.

Dennis

Count me in as one totally addicted to DCL. We're going on the Med next August, than Alaska with you guys. Probably booking the Dream or Fantasy for 2012, whichever one is doint a 7 night itinerary. We tossed the around of doing a btb on the Dream, but didn't like the idea of our only ports being Nassau and Castaway Cay. I'm hoping for some more interesting itineraries with the new ships when their 7 night itineraries are announced. We would have done all of DCL's 7 night itineraries, except of their special ports they do on occasion. We already have done a Western, Eastern, and Mexican Rivieria and a 4 night. So far the Eastern is our favorite of the 4, so if I have to repeat an itinerary, I'll do an Eastern again, the western I could have done without.

Thanks, the western is a tenative booking right now. Still waiting to find out when my DS band trip is. March 5th is the start of a two week school break for us and his trip is during that time. If we can make it work, DH, DD and I might do the western while he's on the band trip. We have 5520, the SPH booked for that one. Basically the CAT8, but at a CAT10 price because of a slightly obstructed view.

Thinking of doing Key West on our own, the Tulum ruins in Cozumel and the turtles/snorkelling in Grand Cayman.

We're with you Jel0511. Totally addicted hook, line and sinker. Didn't think Disney could top the parks, but they did with DCL.

We've got a tentative booking for a western in the spring of next year, but most likely will be moved. DH and I are going to escape at some point in the Fall to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary sans kids. Most likely an Eastern again - loved that itinerary. Then Alaska with this bunch in 2011 (no airfare - hurrah). We're going to wait until 2012 as well for the new ship. Can't justify spending all the moola on flights for a 3/4/5 day cruise. We'll do which ever ship is doing the 7 day then.

Curious what does the 0511 mean?

Good morning all,

Count us in as addicted. We just got back from last week's Eastern on the Magic. It sure did go fast. We had a great time and that group of dissers was so much fun!!

Can't wait to get to know all of you.
