Hello to our favorite tablemates!!

We look forward to visiting the farside of our wonderful country and this cruise is the perfect reason to finally do it!! The three of us are looking forward to taking the time to explore the west coast -- us Ontarians seem to travel south more than travelling west, yet often hear once you go to B.C. you don't want to leave ...

I have read that the four of you (with family) just completed an Alaskan cruise, it will nice to have your tips as a planning guide. Glad to know that you enjoyed it enough to do it again. You will be a wonderful resource to many of us that know little to nothing of the Alaskan interior, plus B.C. itself.

Looking forward to seeing you again and meeting more wonderful people!

Cheers,
Michele

So nice to see you on this cruise. I have not see you since the med repo.

Hi how are you? We were on the 8/17/2008 EB PC Repo too! I haven't taken a 7 day since 2004, gotta love those long cruises. This one is going to seem short compared to them, but I'm so glad we're going to Alaska!

Thanks, same here. It'll be nice to catch up with each other. Us, BCers go south too. Must be because there is not much in between us and you after Calgary. :)

You should think about flying to Calgary and then either taking the train or driving through the Rockies. It's beautiful and shouldn't be missed if you have the time. You can drive it in a day, but 3 days would be great for sightseeing along the way. You'll love BC and Alaska.

Alaska was so peaceful. Pristine wilderness. Great time of year to go and visit Vancouver as well.

We are also booked on this cruise. I'm Nancy and DH is Dan. We will be joining our cruising friends Joanne & Roger (Joannel). We are retired folks.

We also have late dining, we love it!!!! My kids will be 13 and 10.....

Great...where in Jersey are you guys? We are in Western Monmouth County!

Oh..we added a room, we are also in 11A 7535. It saves us over 250.00, gets us another OBO of 200.00, and an extra CC gift.. plus gives me and DH our own room!!! :cool1:

Wow...lots of pirates on this ship!! pirate:

Hi Yvonne! I remember you, too:yay:

I also have very fond memories of 5020, which was our cabin on the 2007 11 night Med cruise:love::love:

I loved starting the thread and hope to keep it updated with lots of useful information for people who don't plan a trip two years in advance:rotfl::rotfl:

We had room 5524 during the 8/29 cruise and loved the SPH. DH loved it so much he said he doesn't think he can go back on deck 2 anymore! So getting a SPH was key for this Alaska cruise. Being able to book on 9/21 I knew I had a better chance. He also said he'd rather we not get a connecting again, great I thought that narrows my chance down to only 2 rooms! But we got it!

I know this is off tangent but I wanted to thank you for all the work on the EB PC FE - wow was I impressed! That was our first FE and the amount of people who joined in - it was amazing you and any one who helped you did a great job organizing! After a cruise we often don't get to thank the people who do a lot of work to help our cruise be such a magical and special one.

Thanks so much for that:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes It was an incredible amount of work, but in the end I think it was a great result and really did enhance an already spectacular cruise.

Love those SPH rooms! I have 5520 on the Baltic this coming summer.:)

Hi Marla, welcome oboard!!!! I feel like there is a celebrity in our midst, sailing with someone from DU. I should have had you, not Tammy book this cruise, then I could say I was sailing with my TA!!!!!

I'm curious - how are the connecting rooms? I think we have one but not connected to anyone we know. Is it noisy?

I've had connecting rooms twice, though I really don't count the last time as we connected to a suite and heard virtually nothing except for the occassional cartoon from their TV. I think those in the suite, probably didn't like us, as it seems like their kids were younger than ours, and we were up later. Our other experience wasn't as pleasant, though it wasn't bad. They weren't exceptionaly loud, though at times it seems like they were playing soccer in there (it was a family with 3 boys). Once, we heard someone scream on the balcony like someone had gotten hurt or jumped overboard. We happened to be in our room at the time, and ran out on to our balcony to see what was going on. Once they saw us, and I looked over and asked them if everything was alright, their anctics definately calmed down. So, would I book a connecting room again, yes I'd take our 8584 again, no problems there. I'd also book one if it was all that was available. This time I did choose a non-connecting room.

I have a question to those you just booked (or anyone that knows) What is the transfer fee for? Is it from Vancouver Airport to the ship or Seattle to the ship?:confused3

I didn't do transfers but my understanding is that it would be from Vancouver airport - Seattle would be a lot more expensive.

I also believe this is from Vancouver airport to cruise and back. I currently have it on my ressies, but will be taking it off as I'm not planning on flying in. Might keep just return transfers as we plan on flying home. But may fly home out of Seattle.

It'll be from Vancouver Airport to Port most likely. Not from Seattle - that's a 3 hour drive away.

Haven't thought about transfers -

the only thing thought about was we might spend sometime around DL before since my uncle lives 10 min from DL

one thought I had was to take train from Fullerton all the way up - might be an interesting couple of days
