"DCL Klondike Kruisers" - August 23, 2011 PART 2

Mindy, we bought the spray stuff and are going to spray one pair of jeans to take with us to wear if it's raining that day. I've read good reviews of the stuff, so decided to go with it. It's supposedly breathable so shouldn't make the fabric much heavier. I picked up my can at Eastern Mountain Sports in Marketfair.

I never knew they had this . May be worth a try.

Oh my goodness that is adorable! I can just imagine a little garden set aside for the critters. Luckily I don't have deer or rabbits to worry about. I'm just far enough in town to not have those coming into my garden. Just chickens, and they are enough trouble! :lmao:

That heat doesn't sound nice at all. It's been extremely mild here. Nothing I can't handle. Keep you and Walter cool!

I wi be glad to get some where cool for a while.

Scott was good, it was nice to see him. We probably won't see him again until Christmas.:sad2: No wedding plans yet, but they are so sweet together, Sunday night she made his lunch for Monday!!!

Yes I did see Tommy's ****oo, I think that's a round of drinks for all!!!!:rotfl:

That sounds so sweet. THey are so cute together! They woud make beautiful babies :thumbsup2

I printed the info for the bikes in Stanley park and it is very reasonable. They also rent electric scooters so Tommy can go with us. I also printed some coupons for a free reusable shopping bag on Granville Island. Can you tell I am not very busy this week.

Good, get our Vancouver days all scheduled, then we won't waste one minute trying to figure out what to do!!!

I hope they do make babies some day!!

good job, what time do we pick up the car Monday? It's a little over an hour to Whistler right?
10:00 AM and will turn it in at the port on Tuesday morning. WIth all of the luggage we can send Tommy and Roger wth the van and bags to turn it in and we can walk and meet them there.

I don't mean to hijack your discussion but just an FYI there are a couple of bike rental places to choose from I have found one of the less expensive to be english bay bike rentals Vancouver Bike rental at Stanley Park 1754 Davie Street 604-568-8490 and there is even a coupon that you can print up for a couple dollars off. If you are doing the suspension bridge, Science World, Dr. Sun Yat Sen Gardens or aquarium there are also coupons if you visit vancouverattractions.com......I am a bit frugal by nature.......hope this helps

THanks! DH is just cheap :lmao:

my good friend Cheryl is also heading to Whistler with her DH after the cruise for a couple of nights. They also have a car rented to head up there. Hopefully we can intro you on the cruise in case you see each other around Whistler. She doesn't DISboard much.

I bought packable rain pants for everyone in our party....they don't take up space and we will have them if needed.....rain isn't going to stop this family!

oh where did you find these?

just realized we leave in ONE MONTH to head to Vancouver!!!!

AT&T is the primary vender in Alaska...According to one of the residents there. Take it for what it is worth. Maybe they just like AT&T. I have AT&T and amcrossing my fingers. Although I have no one to call. My two DGDs may want to call home, so we will wait for Alaska to do that. I already admitted I was cheap! They can use WIFI in the hotel and Skype. See I am a nice person too.;)

I am computer stupid, so my smart phone will work for internet as long as the hotel has wi-fi. I am cheap too so I sure don't want to pay, but we need to meet up with all our group!!!

Neither of you are cheap, just planning ahead!!!!!

My DH called verizon today and they said that we do have service in Alaska. We were also able to add a month of voice for Canada for $20 for both of our phones. We did it because we want to be able to communicate.

Oh that will work perfect for us as we are doing several nights in Canada pre cruise and post cruise

I am off to a slow start because last night I was at the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows midnight release! It was great fun. The theater made a double feature ticket so I could watch part 1 at 9pm and then stay in my seat and watch part2 at Midnight. All for $12, plus drink and food specials (since were were there for five hours :lmao:) It was a blast! But now I'm sleepy!

oh that sounds like so much fun!

Thanks.

I am asking b/c her luggage tags were NOT included in my packet. I guess I will have to call DCL.

I wasn't expecting my DH and DS's info in my packet, but figured they should get their own as well since they were booked through DVC. Hopefully theirs will come on Monday.

did your mom's docs show up at her place?

It just seems so strange based on how ours went! We booked ours through the TA so they all went to her originally anyway. She has magic planning powers though! :wizard:

I personally think it would be better if everyone's room got one document. It certainly made things simple for us! Who wants four or five different papers to hold in the terminal? :rotfl2: Not me! We already have enough to carry around!

Your travel agent can choose to have the docs sent to you or to her/him. She probably wanted to see your smiling face!

I know what you mean!! The heat is unbearable here in PA! It is hard to imagine needing jeans and hoodies next month. I think the cooler weather will be welcoming at that point though! What did DS major in?

So hot here in Minnesota too, we had a bit of a break last night and this morning, the humidity is still down but the temp is climbing again. And my car doesn't like it when it's this hot, it starts to overheat if I have the A/C on. Not fun driving to dance 4 times a week for DD with the windows down.

I found DH and mine at Sierra trading company very cheap and I got the kids at LL Bean....they are very neat the adult ones fold right into their pocket to make one nice small bundle and very light. They all just slip on over whatever you are wearing....so if it rains I will just grab them out of my backpack for everyone. I like to prepare for the worst and hopefully we wont need them.

Yeah she probably did! She had a present for me too :goodvibes I wondered why she wanted me to come by and pick them up instead of just mailing them like she did with the first little booklet we got after we booked.

She received them on Monday at her house so she is ready. All we need to do is wait for this next month to go by as we leave for Vancouver 1 month from today :cool1:.

I'm glad she got her docs! It did take them a while to finally get them to all of us so I guess we all should have been patient. :lmao:

Hi everyone,
Just as a reminder that tomorrow is the deadline for FE. Please post here or PM me if you are interested in playing.

Also, I do not have everyone's room number for FE yet, so if you could please post or PM me your room number I would really appreciate it.

Have a great weekend everyone! A month from today - we set sail!:woohoo::goodvibes
