This might not be the right place to ask, but here goes.
I am looking to find a job as a cast member at the DCL cruise terminal. My goal is to be one of the cast members that check you in and print your KTTW and direct you where to go, etc.....
My problem? I have been searching the DCL job listings for over a year and also every other combination of descriptive words for this position. Such as Port Representative, DCL Cast Member Shoreside, etc......
Any idea where I can find these listings?

As a former CM (not for DCL) that website is the best place. If you are able I would also suggest going to the Casting Center which is located across from Disney Springs. You might be able to talk to someone. Finally I would also suggest taking any CM job you can get for the time being. Current CM's get access to most new job postings before the general public. So that would increase your chances if a cruise terminal posting appears. Good luck!!

That sounds like a job many people would like to do. I agree with mills10, the best thing to do is get any CM job so you have an opportunity even see job postings. The best positions in any company usually never make it to a public offering, they're applied for by people who already work for the company. Good luck to you!

Please take what I'm about to say with a grain of salt, as I have no first hand knowledge as to how this all works.

Whenever I see something on a cruise forum where someone is complaining about service they received at the check in counter, usually someone (often many someones) chimes in that those employees do not work for (enter random cruise line name here), but are port employees - even if they are wearing a particular cruise line's uniform and badge. They might be wearing DCL stuff one day and working the NCL terminal the next day wearing their stuff. Again, I have no personal knowledge if this is true or not, but I've seen that comment numerous times. And you know what they say - if I read it on the internet it must be true!!! :P

I know there are some posters on here that have worked for DCL in the past and others that have family members that do so currently. Hopefully one of them will chime in if they know who those employees actually work for.

Good luck!

I believe the port workers that don't work for DCL, but the port, are the porters, not the CMs that check you in and direct you.

I know folk who work at the cruise terminals in PC. They are employed by third party companies ... stevedore companies.

Also the DCL positions are highly sought after and most often gained by working assignments for a different cruise line for YEARS before getting the opportunity to move to DCL.

You seldom see 'want ads' for these companies as they are very desirable positions with local retired folk seeking discount cruises . . . a good friend started working Carnival terminals about 2 years ago in hopes of getting to DCL some day. They got tired of the work long before getting close to a DCL position. As sep' verification I got talking to a guy at lunch one day and he said he worked for DCL in the terminal and I asked how he got the gig. "I knew someone .... that's the only way .... there's a long waiting list"

Very similar to the folks who drive the DCL buses ... they work for MEARS who actually owns the buses .... MEARS will charter them to other folks when DCL isn't using 'em. Our church chartered 4 buses to take kids to youth camp one summer and we had a near riot when 4 DCL buses showed up .... kids thought they were getting a surprise cruise .... NOT

The CMs at Port Canaveral wear actual Disney nametags. Some of them may also work for the other cruise lines, but when at the Disney terminal, they are CMs.

The CMs in Galveston, Miami, and Dover are not Disney CMs. I assume this is true of the other ports, but we have not sailed from them.

If they are not actual CMs, how do they have actual Disney nametags? Some even have the longevity pins.

Just like at WDW, not everyone wearing the official Disney name tag is a Disney employee. The vast majority are though. However, if the person is wearing a DCL name tag and also has a service pin (longevity pin) on their name tag, they do work for the Disney company. As a WDW CM for over 22 years, I've worked with a number of WDW Cast Members who transferred to the DCL and are now Crew Members. AFAIK, the people working at the check-in counters are DCL Crew Members.

At Port Canaveral, I'd imagine that some to most are. At Miami, they are likely not, though they did have Disney name tags when working a Disney ship. I'm pretty sure I saw a few from the terminal when I cruised fathom who were working the terminal when I cruised out of Miami.

Those working check-in at Port Canaveral are DCL CMs as evidenced by their DCL nametags. The porters are contractors to Port Canaveral and not DCL CMs.
As for the other ports, all are seasonal contractors working check-in, evidenced by their simple white oval nametags with red lettering and a red trim oval (the same worn by Shutters photographers and Senses Spa employees, all of whom are not DCL CMs, but are contractors), but they do wear DCL check-in costumes (uniforms); however, there are several DCL Port Ops Team member CMs (with actual DCL nametags) who are present overseeing the overall check-in/boarding process, and are normally dressed professionally and not in costumes (uniforms). If you have an issue that cannot be immediately resolved, you want the DCL Port Ops Team to assist you/rectify it. All of the porters at the other ports are contractors to that port and not DCL CMs.
