What a great board. Thanks to you enthusiastic DVC members who post on this board I called today to purchase at BCV.

Obviously I am working in the dark yet because I don't have any member paperwork on hand yet.

My question is: Since DCL is not a home resort how far out can one book a reservation? And do they limit how many rooms are sold out to DVC on each cruise?

11 months from date of sailing. Not sure on room limits....

No room limits. You use MS just as if it is your travel agent for booking your cruise ressie! :)

Can you us MS if you're booking a cruise using cash?? Would I be better served to use a travel agent and look for some discounts?

Thank you!

To use MS to book your cruise, at least one adult/cabin must be "paying" with points. You may pay for others in the party with cash. Keep in mind that MS's cash price is the one that was negotiated with DCL. It may be more or less than the price available to the general public (especially if there are specials or sales going on).

Members value their points differently, so it is difficult to answer your last question. In this situation, I would check prices with a travel agent and/or DCL and also with MS. Based on that info, I'd decide if I'd rather save my points and pay cash for the cruise or if I should go with MS. If you go with MS, you have to decide if you want to pay entirely with points or a combination. Again, you have to decide based on how you value your points and the amount of $$ you have to spend on vacations.
