DCL has updated the app. Countdown is no longer boring!

Hi Everyone!!

Looks like the latest version (2.0.2) of the DCL app was just released for Android and iOS users.

Here's what the countdown clock looks like now. It's also animated with the ship moving up and down.! I like it...



These are the previous iterations. The suitcase countdown was beloved by many but for some reason Disney decided to change the clock to a plain blue background.

Woo hoo! I was sent a survey after our last cruise and there was a section about the app. I made sure to mention how much I hated the boring countdown. I'm glad they've listen to everyone who was expressing their disappointment with that.

Yep, I'm waiting for the iOS version. The one I have now is just awful. Glad they listened to people.

You're not the only one. I had the same thought, but I'm just thankful that the new one doesn't look as boring as the one I have now. You'd think that with all the Disney art and artists out there that they could make it amazing, though.

I just downloaded it over the weekend. Am I correct that it does nothing EXCEPT countdown, until you connect with the ship's wifi? (in 75 days and 6 hours on a boring iOS app?)

That's adorable!! I have a IPhone and have the really boring countdown clock so I just deleted and reloaded the app. But it's still the ugly blue countdown with just the number of days, no animation or pictures of anything.....

You should be getting the updated app soon. For whatever reason, Disney released the Android version first. They're probably just squashing some bugs with the iOS version so hang tight and hopefully you'll get the new one shortly.

That is correct. You will have access and complete control over the app once you are connected to the onboard ship WI-Fi.

Yes, that's correct. The app doesn't do anything else until you are on board and connected to the ship's wifi.

This is one of the few times Android has had the advantage. It seems almost everything is geared for iphones first and then android, if at all.

Well, as someone that has never had an Android, I sure am glad some of ya'll are getting to enjoy that cute new update on the DCL Navigator app! It's SOOooooo much cuter than what I have currently! Enjoy!!

Really??? I deleted the DCL app which has been on my phone for years, (the app has been updated each time it showed an update was needed), so after Dis_Mike's post, I deleted and reloaded the DCL app and my countdown clock is still basically half the screen as a blue box with white countdown numbers as it was before. Wonder what I'm missing?

Which phone do you have? Maybe it doesn’t support the new version. I actually loaded the iPhone version on my iPad.
