I’ve never understood why people start lining up 30 minutes before dinner when they have a reserved table. It’s one of life mysteries.

The only time it would make sense to line up before the start of dinner is when Animators Palate is doing the Drawn to Magic show. People want that extra time to make their drawing look good. Which makes me wonder if the later guests of the staggered seating times will be rushed to do their drawings.

If my kids were under 12 it would be a no-go for us too. My kids loved the Oceaneers Club. According to DCL"s website, there won't be any restrictions on the Vibe so we should be fine. I totally get where you coming from though.

We're the same. If our children were under 12, we wouldn't be going. Not only because they also loved oceaneers club, but also the fact that they wouldn't be vaccinated yet.

For us, a cruise would not be an option at this time without vaccination.

I could see them using that electrostatic spray that they use in airplanes to treat bags...seems like it would be the quickest way for the number of bags they receive. What I don't understand is encouraging people to carry off their checked luggage.

I think they realized how confusing that sounded so now all it says is:

Picking Up Your Luggage
You may take your luggage with you when you debark the ship or place your luggage outside your stateroom on the last night of your voyage between 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM for delivery to the ship's terminal. Color-coded luggage tags featuring Disney characters are provided to assist you in locating your luggage in the terminal. You will need to write your stateroom number, name, address and number of bags on these tags and attach the tags to your luggage. Luggage will be placed in colored zones, according to stateroom number, for easy recognition in the port terminal on debarkation day.

Has anyone heard anything on the status of the Dream’s Pirate Night & Halloween events?

I know the deck party is on hiatus but not sure if all of pirate night is on hiatus as well…

ours is a Halloween cruise-so curious on those events as well..

trying to plan outfits/face masks and not sure what to expect

It’s still listed as Halloween on the High Seas so I’m assuming they will be doing something (besides the decor)? Would be cool if they did a Halloween fireworks show!

I’m on one of the first ones (9/6) so will definitely report back for those of you sailing later ….

am a bit cofused about the shows. the boat has two shows every night and right now no more than half the boat is supposed to be booked or 1000 passengers whichever is less so there really should be no need to reserve a seat because you will have plenty of room

Canceled mine too until masks are optional we already all did our part and got fully vaccinated. For the staff and maybe kids who can’t get access to it yet (which why take them on a cruise of all things…????) but no way for me. Respect to all those who still want to go, enjoy!

I agree. For us. if our children were under 12 and wasn't eligible to get the vaccine, we would not be going. I would be overly nervous...it would not be a fun vacation.

I agree. But I've never really notice anyone there that early.

As soon as we get there, and it's always on time, there's a long line each time. My children would then complain and say that I didn't need to rush them. I just tell them it's rude to our servers to be late. But no matter what time we go down, there's always a line.

I would not be as worried about children under 12 if every person 12 and older were vaccinated.

It seems that more often children catch it from someone they live with than through casual contact with other children, but everyone has their own comfort levels.

The 1,000 passengers was just for the first cruise or two from the UK.

The shows will be first come first served.
If they would go with 50% (we don't know), they'll have 2,000 passengers.

I saw a Social Media post from a CM that said they were working 3 showings of Dreams on the Magic that day... they may be adding something like a Matinee to spread things out. Of course, I can't find that post now, so take that with a grain of salt.

the staycations on the magic have the kids clubs open but not the nursery and they have shows every night do not sure why things are so different on the dream. but definitely wouldn't cruise with all the restrictions

Not normally. We've been there once or twice during the day during a Christmas cruise when they had ornament decorating.

I think they decided to only do a single show as to not make the 3 and 4 night cruises too different out of the gate. I could see someone on a 3 night cruise being furious that the 4 night cruise gets 2 different shows and they don't when they are paying more per night.

I am thinking on Fantasy they will have 2/3 shows.

• Day 3 - Early Show is Broadway Show 1 + Late Show is Variety Show
• Variety Show - Day 4
• Day 5 - Early Show is Variety Show + Late Show is Broadway Show 2

I'm so mad at DCL. They could have announced this a long time ago. No way I would have booked if I knew I had to wear a mask even if I'm vaccinated. Thanks for nothing DCL.

I understand your frustration and I agree they should have put out something sooner. However I read that masks are only required indoors (if vaccinated) if you can't social distance.
I also read that the UK sailings already have had some restrictions lifted from what they had in place when they restarted earlier this month. I would except the U.S. sailings to also adjust but they have to start somewhere and personally I am excited to get back on the ship. I understand for people who its their first cruise but for some of us who are platinum just enjoying what we can along with not a full ship will be nice.

My husband already said he wants to cancel (this will be our 6th cancelled cruise) and I can’t say I disagree. I’m going to make a spreadsheet. We sail in September on the Fantasy in concierge and then a Christmas back to back on Fantasy in regular veranda. I hope things are different before Christmas. I just feel really sad and defeated today.

With all due respect I expected restrictions when they restart, not sure why anyone (not saying you in particular) are surprised.

I don't believe that is true. Per DCL's website for the Dream cruises:

All Guests (ages 2 and up, including those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19) are required to wear appropriate face coverings indoors, except when in their staterooms or actively eating or drinking (while stationary and maintaining an appropriate physical distance).​

The UK sailings do seem to be relaxing some rules and they do have a slightly different mask rule to begin with. Those UK cruises have been going on for a few weeks; I can see DCL may relax US rules in a month, after a few weeks of live cruises but not before then. They waited this long to release their protocols, presumably so they didn't play the change game that other cruise lines found themselves doing.

The mask rules are the same for everyone onboard, vaccinated or not.

The guidelines for the Dream clearly state that masks have to be worn at all times in public indoor areas except when actively eating or drinking while stationary and distanced. The quotation from their website below includes the "distanced" comment, which is only in reference to eating or drinking. Being distanced alone isn't enough to not wear a mask.

Face Coverings
All Guests (ages 2 and up, including those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19) are required to wear appropriate face coverings indoors, except when in their staterooms or actively eating or drinking (while stationary and maintaining an appropriate physical distance). Face coverings are not required for Guests outdoors while on board the ship and at Disney Castaway Cay. Face coverings may be required in ports of call based on local government requirements.
