DCL & DVC *& Luggage

We are staying at the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge prior to our cruise and taking a private limo to the port. Is there a way to have DCL take our luggage from the resort or do we handle it, not a big deal, but how great would that be!!

We stayed at Old Key West last August prior to going on the cruise, and took a limo also. We called DCL to see if they could take our luggage even if we weren't taking DCL transportation. We were told they would take up to six bags for $25 total. We called Bell Services who picked up our bags from our room, and arranged for them to be picked up by the DCL bus. The next time we saw them was in our stateroom! I assume they can do the same thing at the Wilderness Lodge....

THANKS AND GOOD TO KNOW!!! Did you arrange this prior or once you arrived at OKW, I'm sure it won't be a problem calling when we get there. Not sure if the buses pickup at each resort or not. But how nice will it be to not have to haul the luggage!

Actually, we were planning to take all the luggage with us in the limo until the day before the cruise. We were walking past the DCL desk at the Yacht & Beach Club on our way to lunch, and stopped at the desk to see if they could arrange for our luggage to be transported. Betty, the DCL representative there, made a phone call and arranged everything for us between DCL and Old Key West. She even gave us extra DCL tags for our luggage.

I'm really surprised at this given the security environment. I'm not sure I would want to be riding on any transportation (bus, plane, train) that had personal luggage from someone that is not on the transportation. I'm sure none of you are terrorists, but it makes me nervous.

Most checked in luggage is brought over by luggage truck. The only time luggage is on the bus is if it's carry-on or if the trucks are not bringing any more luggage from that particular area. In short, there is no unattended luggage put on the bus.

Check with DCL. I don't think that WL is one of the DCL bus stops. So better be safe. I know that OKW is one of the stops.

Well I checked with DCL, WL is one of there stops, but the lady said they WOULD NOT take my bags, even if I paid for the service!! The only bags that go are for those using DCL transport!!! She was quite sure of herself and even had a little attitude at the fact that I would suggest it! Well once I get there I will check?
