Hey - if you been on a DCL cruise can you let me know your thoughts on the cruise staff....

First off welcome to the DIS and the DCL forum. Now to answer your question on the cruise staff. I think of them as a bunch of Energizer Bunnies! They seem to always be going and always full of energy! Their job is to keep the party going all week long and they do it well.

I've seen them up late late late at night dancing at the pirate party and then up early the next morning giving tours of the ship etc.

These young people work very very hard to make our cruise MAGICal and WONDERful! They are the best!

They are the best of the best.....friendly, attentive, and every bit as service oriented as CMs at the best Disney hotels like the Grand Floridian.....

In addition to the tipped CMs that take care of us daily (waiter, asst waiter, head waiter, stateroom host), we've found the staff at Mickeys Mates and Treasure Ketch to be incredibly nice.....

One word Wonderful! We had an amazing time on our cruise because of the Staff, and of course all the other CMs. We were very surprised to see the same CM's who'd been dancing like crazy at the late night parties, up giving bridge tours, etc. What a neat bunch of people.

Also did you know that they Character handlers are also in the main stage preformances, amazing, and even with all they do, they are still so happy all the time.
DCL has it all over the other cruiselines when it comes to cruise staff, atleast I think so.

Yes, the entertainment staff are amazing as well! They don't just give 2 or 3 full performances each day, they also handle everything that makes the cruise Disney to the kids.

Awesome!!!! Just got back from a Princess cruise and sorely missed the DCL crew. They just make it so much more fun.

The staff is great, as everyone else has said. You won't see a grumpy face in the bunch, and they are always willing to help you with anything.

You will defiinitely see some of the same faces over and over - I don't know how they can be so happy with everything they have to do everyday!!

I have never seen a group of people with such a desire to serve you and make you happy/comfortable. I felt like saying, "Here, you have worked so hard. You sit down on this lounge chair and let ME make YOU a drink."

I walked down the hall one afternoon and they were having a crew emergency drill. They were all lined up against the wall, and I felt like I had won a pageant of some kind. They all just smiled and said "Hello!" as if I had been just the person they were waiting to see.

Every single Cast Member, from Housekeeping, to Maintenance, to Youth Counselors, to the Captain (who I literally ran into in the hall one morning!) -- EVERYONE with a Cast Member pin on SMILED and said HELLO whenever we saw them. Without exception!!!

Now, that is friendly service, and truly makes you feel appreciated!!!

I have 2 great staff moments to share. The first was our dining room server...he saw me at the buffet on day 2 or 3 and knew I liked creme brulee. He found where I was sitting and brought me some dessert. He did not have to do that but he went out of his way to be nice.

Our stateroom attendant helped us decorate our parents room. He also put some trinkets from tinkerbell into the room of our friend for their children.

We love the crew...that is why we keep going back to DISNEY!!!!

To the OP.....are you refering to the DCL crew in general, or just the members of the CRUISE STAFF positions (meaning the Mc's, dance hosts, hosts at the game shows, host of Bingo, theme nights, etc.). Their specifc title is Cruise Staff.

Fishing for compliments, maybe??!!! I'll oblige!!!

All the staff, from the "yellow men" to the Captain are above and beyond any other cruise line.....we have cruised DCL 15 times and have never been disappointed!!!

We (DH, DM, DF, DS 11, 9, and 7)commented on the awesome crew when we received a postcard from the cruiseline to fill an online comment card. All the crew members had happy and helpfull dispositions form the guys painting railings to the various food servers. They crew members that do the game shows and bingo are out on the dance floor leading the kids and adults in the afternoon and evenings. You really get to know some of them. We LOVED the crew!

I have to agree with the previous replies. Our entire group commented on this -- even my parents who can be difficult to please. Every crew member and I do mean (every crew member) was friendly, outgoing and helpful. My parents thought they wanted to try another non-Disney cruise line. However, they jumped at the opportunity to go with us again primarily because of the outstanding service and the way the crew made us feel.

Absolutely incredible. My DSs even collected autographs from various crew members trying to find staff from as many countries as possible. Everyone was helpful and would tell them about their country and even suggest where to find crew members from other countries. I cannot say enough nice things.

Having gone on another line last year and now just returning from our th Disney cruise, I have to say the CMs are what make the cruise special. They seem to get to know the guests and how they remember you after 2 years is amazing!!
We had Pirom as our server a few years ago and this cruise he greeted my son and parents by name and made a point of stopping by on the night we celebrated my parents' 50th anniversary.

As everyone said, they all greet you and go out of their way to make you have the best time possible.
we were very impressed this trip with Richard and Arnaldo from conceirge.
I did notice the cast from the shows were with the characters at the breakfast and very friendly.

I doubt you can find a negative reply.
